Under terms of the agreement announced Monday, Oregon and Washington’s governors are committing their states to move forward with similar policies, even though the legislatures of both states have denied previous attempts to adopt cap-and-trade.

“California isn’t waiting for the rest of the world before it takes action on climate change,” California Gov. Jerry Brown said in a statement.“Today, California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia are all joining together to reduce greenhouse gases,” Brown said.

Nice beginning, but getting beyond coordinated efficiency measures will be difficult. First, Washington state has been crippled in per capita efficiency ever since the early 1970's, when Seattle citizens voted down free federal money to begin mass transit programs. That money then fell to Portland, Oregon, which those citizens picked up & now have the trim MAX light rail. In one fell swoop, Oregon diverged from Washington state in per capita-mile emissions. Continued one-dimensional early 20th century thinking, cripples Washington from joining the 21 century.

Presently, Seattle is strapped just trying to maintain its degrading transportation infra-structure.

re-pubic-lick-uns dump science, mathematics & hard work in the dumpster. Environmentalists fought re-pubic-lick-uns to get parts of our nation protected. The environmental movement was so powerful that "tricky Dicky" was forced to start the EPA, & re-pubic-lick-un plans to rend America's lands was thwarted.

To make money for themselves, re-pubic-lick-uns gave our work to chinese communists. re-pubic-lick-uns didn't care that they played with chinese communists, who killed 100 million of their own BROTHERS, SISTERS, CHILDREN & BABIES. re-pubic-lick-uns forced the U.S. into unfair & unequal trade with chinese communists.

"colddeadtrout" is as dead as its ideas.
