"A variety of energy experts and Commerce Department officials conducted a series of modeling exercises, which all concluded that the proposed gas plants were the most economic ways to meet electricity needs."

"A variety of energy experts and Commerce Department Officials..."
Really, REALLY, Kelly, you start off a defense of YOUR position with a statement that can only be construed as an Oxymoron. Which energy experts would those be? Natural Gas "experts" perhaps? Who paid for these "modeling" exercises? Computer time isn't cheap, who pays for this? Is this one of those therapy groups that play with toys and imagine the future? You're so institutionalized Kelly you can't see how terrified the electric utilities are of distributed power generation. One day soon, David Crane CEO of NRG will run over these bankrupt utilities that cannot and will not change their business model. From centralized power generation to distributed generation with power storage.

Solar energy options are not a viable economic alternative to meet electricity needs, but a Minnesota judge’s misguided opinion has put our state on the path toward replacing coal-burning generating stations with unreliable and expensive solar energy.
