Over the years, the average increase in electricity rates has been about 1% per year for at least the last 30 years. Now they come in spurts of 5%, 6%, 7%. The Electric Utility will want a 10% rate increase, the PUC allows 5% and pats themselves on the back.
You can get a pretty good sized system on your home for around 30K installed. If you put that 30K in the bank and the bank invests it for their gain and gives you a paltry 0.5% to 1% interest. If you put that 30K on your roof as a solar PV system you decrease or eliminate your electric bill for life.
