"In an effort to reduce and control the release of greenhouse and acidic gases as well as to utilise and solve the disposal of abundant biomass waste, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has successfully developed a novel technology to produce a highly active sorbent/catalyst prepared from oil palm shell that is efficient in the simultaneous removal of the most important industrial pollutant gases, namely NO,C02 , N02 and S02."
Good news if it is cheap and does not need to be regenerated. Not so good if we have to waste a lot of energy making it.
"He said these properties allow CePAC to absorb, reduce and oxidise the toxic gases easily and efficiently."
No. He didn't say that. You cannot 'reduce and oxidize' CO2, NO2, SO2, etc as they are already 'reduced and oxidized' as far as they will go. It will do nothing more than absorb the gases at some expense, not defined.
