Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse-Rhode Island: Fisheries are changing rapidly. Fish that used to be plentiful are rare, while fish never found off the shores of Rhode Island, are being caught..... both incidences show a direct effect of warming ocean waters changing fish populations.

Sen. Brian Schatz-Hawaii: By the year 2039 half of ski areas on the east coast of the U.S. will not exist. Thirteen percent of ski areas in the Cascade mountains & 60% of the ski areas in the Olympic mountains are already being affected negatively.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse-Rhode Island: With high CO2 emissions continued, 2/3rds of the past Winter Olympic sites will not be viable. The National Hockey League states that frozen lakes & other waters, which helped boys & young men develop their hockey skills are decreasing & hockey skills needed professionally, are at risk.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse-Rhode Island: 14000 Science Papers have been written on AGW. Only 24 papers reject AGW.

The Senator continues:
Leaders of the re-pubic-lick-un party must bring their membership away from the brink of their destruction.

Sen. Brian Schatz-Hawaii: Hawaii has lots of wind energy, altho some winds do not coincide with maximum electric grid draw. Technology is advancing to make the renewable energy possibilities integrate into the Electric Grid more efficiently. Our state's efficiency program is ground breaking, well on its way to meet its goal of 25% renewable portfolio by 2020.

Sen. Christopher Murphy -Connecticut: Ski industry in Connecticut is in trouble & may not exist in the future. The main rail line runs exactly along the coastline. A rail bridge along the coast, was only saved from Hurricane Sandy by a sand dune that took the brunt of the storm. Without the sand dune, the rail bridge would have been lost & rail traffic would have been down for months if not longer. The sand dune no longer exists due to Sandy, so any similar future storm will down the rail line. In truth many other exposures along the shore can also be removed due to any powerful storm occurring. Eleven percent of NYC is in flood plain. Insurers plan, due to Congressional deadbeat re-pubic-lick-un inaction on AGW, that the U.S. will not take immediate steps to AGW & rates already are rising. Not only are insurance of item costs increasing, but health insurance costs are escalating, due to increasing sickness from malaria, lyme disease, & other diseases spread by insects.

Koch Brothers & other old-line industrials flood the communication lines with millions of dollars of old-line ideas.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal- Connecticut: Rare destructive storms are no longer rare. Increasing AGW droughts, snow storms, hurricanes & large storm fronts are 3 times more common. The threat is now & we must face the changes as if they are eminent, because they are. Stagnation & disfunction in Washington D.C. must be broken, because we are leaving America worse than we found it. Fire seasons are longer, starting sooner & lasting PAST the regular time periods. Failure to fix our elected powerlessness, leave our shorelines with continued non-protection against AGW. Warmer summers sound like a good idea, except AGW is prone to climate extremes, both hot & cold. Increased rainfalls will be delivered in more punctuated low quantities of drought & high quantities of major storms. The Northeast could see 20% to 30% more spring storms. Areas receiving a few 100 degF days, may see 20+ such days. Maple sugar trees should move further north, disrupting the maple sugar industry. Hurricanes Irene, Sandy & 2010-11 snow storms were wake up calls(tho re-pubic-lick-uns never woke up). New car efficiency standards will save $8000 per vehicle over the lifetime of the vehicle. Our infra-structure is deteriorating & our tax monies pay the gov'ts & businesses responsible for infra-structure collapse.

Sen. Jack Reed-Rhode Island: AGW is slow moving, AGW to be whittled out of the noise of short term, but continuing weather. The slow, but changing dynamic is showing the future will be even more severe, than our already seen extremes. Sea rise has discussions of sea walls in parts of Manhattan (a sea wall is already surrounding the new One World Trade Center). Storms are causing shoreline infra-structure to weaken & our delay to maintain shorelines, weaken them all the more. AGW is a challenge, but it is also an opportunity. Roads are so poor, due to AGW driven Arctic cold driven south from the North Pole.

Sen. Tom Udall-New Mexico: Ninety percent of New Mexico is in extreme drought since 2010-11. Snowpacks are only one third to 40% of normal. Rio Grande river is not grand & the Senator last year stood by the river when it had no water. Northern New Mexico is predicted to not have forests. The deserts in Mexico south of the border, may be the terrain of New Mexico, by 2100. Solar power is competitive to coal, right now. New Mexico is 17th in wind turbine electrical energy generation, providing 6% of New Mexico's electrical portfolio. New Mexico has advanced fuels Algae production.

Sen. Maria Cantwell-Washington: Salmon food source is dependent on ocean acidification. U.S. fisheries include 1 million jobs. Oceans absorb 25% of CO2. Ocean acidification has increased 30% in the last 200 years. Oyster larvae are not able to form with inundating ocean acidification, reducing yields by 60%. Teripods, the food for salmon, are not forming properly due to ocean acidification. Ten million scallop died off, near Vancouver, B.C.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen-New Hampshire: AGW is dulling New England fall maple colors. Fewer snow days & fewer maple sugar production. Sugar maples may be eliminated in the future New England. Moose population is down 40% due to AGW warmed winters that haven't killed off ticks.

Sen. Bill Nelson-Florida: 14 million people live along the coast. That will double by 2040(?). Most of Florida's coast will be flooded, some areas deeply inland. The Florida Keys will be gone. Much of the Everglades will be ocean water inundated. The Senator, who was an astronaut, was also Florida insurance commissioner. He tried to get the Insurance Industry interested in protecting Florida shorelines, which the insured. The insurance industry buried its head in the ground. Miami Beach, will buy sea pumps & build sea walls, while asking the Neatherlands for information. Sea water inundation from rising tides is beginning to intrude on fresh water city supplies.
