Last gasp of a dying industry. Fossil fuels ruled. They don't rule. Obama is right that we need to promote the transition rather than stay mired in the past. And climate change IS a major issue to the voters. In economics and jobs. The WAY the question is asked biases the polls, often deliberately.

40% of Americans see AGW driven climate change as a 'major threat'. Sure the top ones are PROPAGANDA driven such as North Korea or Iran's claimed nuclear programs. But of the ones with REAL data, climate change is fairly high.

And if you add the JOBS and long term SUSTAINABILITY, AGW would rank in the top of ACTUAL threats.

And World Health Organization: air pollution in towns and cities kills 1.3 million people globally each year.

UK estimates suggest nearly 30,000 people die prematurely each year as a direct result of exposure to air pollution. Air pollution has been linked to asthma and other lung diseases, including cancer, as well as heart problems.
