Here is a link to a video about a new wind farm in Indiana. It will give you a representative view of what they would look like in Ohio.

Small scale wind turbines come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Many of the machines people are familiar with, horizontal-axis systems, have three blades and are mounted on either a monopole or a lattice tower with guy wires. There are also vertical axis systems where, instead of three radial blades, the system rotates around a center much like an old fashioned barbershop pole. Some vertical axis turbines are designed to be mounted at lower heights on a monopole or to be mounted on roofs. http://energy.wesrch.com/pdfTR16RRXEWUNUQ There is always a solution to any problem

Wind power is just more liberal garbage. The feds will invest in it, then intentionally keep oil prices inflated to make their investment look good. Yes, liberal garbage.

Google "wind turbine scam". Research why so many are being built when they are inefficient and not worth the cost. The idiots in Urbana let this happen here because they are too stupid to research it. Over 100 500 foot tall industrial turbines close to several homes all in the love of money they will never see. It's NOT green energy, it's just for the green money.

Green energy or not, they provide renewable energy. They will also add a certain majestic beauty to our regional landscape. And, I am certainly not a liberal. They will also benefit our region by enriching people who had the foresight to make land available for their construction.

Lisbon University have already proven what Dr Pierpont Claims. Infrasound research has been carried out by acousticians, doctors and pathologists assisted by various other universities. What is more important you can believe it because the research was university funded and not particularly aimed at the wind industry? Giant industrial Wind Turbine Generators 100 and 125 metres high with football field length 90 metre diameter rotors can cause physiological cell damage that could easily impair the brain functioning of a growing child. That is fact. The wind industry is riding a lucrative climate change gravy train with little regard for any consequences.

It's all about federal grant money. Love thy neighbor? Yeah right. You sold yourselves when you signed that lease.

No Timmy,

It's all about the federal (Owebama) mandate that electric energy providers include at least 25% of the power they sell be derived from renewable resources by 2016. The date may be incorrect but, it provides the sense of urgency. We, the consumer get to pay for this folly (mandate).

You're an idiot, jas. They're inefficient, detrimental to health, and more cost than it's worth.

Hobbes,
You just agreed with JAS; does that make you an idiot too?

Neither you nor Hobbys is correct. Owebama and the EPA don't care about how much it costs or, how efficient the wind turbines are. They represent one segment of the enewable energy paradigm as do solar panels. Solar panels, when installed on the ground, eat up land that would better be used to grow food crops or, to plant trees that would eat CO2 and provide oxygen for people to breathe. Some of you are so hell-bent against everything it is comical.

If it wasn't for a bunch of you protesters and windfarm haters it would have brought a lot of jobs and money to Urbana. Now it will just reside here. Several years ago when they were closing the Siemens factory in Urbana. 100s of people lost there jobs. I was in management. The Germans who run the company actually came to our factory and wanted to keep it open they saw how good the place was ran and how great all our employees were. The Germans decided they were going to remodel the factory to make the wind turbines and expand the factory and give everyone substantial raises. They were going to change the wages to start at 24$ an hours starting off. And all current employees would've started making 30 or more $ an hour. They said our actors was perfect set up to build the turbines and great location. After we started working out all the details and everything over the period of several months they started realizing how many people in Urbana were against the turbines and protested them. They got worried that if they started building them. That they would get bad publicity around here and have picketers outside. So there exact words when they canceled the project. Was. We are not going to bring jobs and money to these people who don't appreciate it. These people have no clue the good we could bring and the turbines would bring. But since try hate them so much they won't see any benefits from us. Then they pulled the project. They had even discussed with us. That they were going to donate all turbines to the champaign county area free of charge for us supporting them. And it would have created about 600 more jobs on top of what we already had. So thank you so much people. U are all so smart u know it all dont u. You are the people who will end this world. Maybe wind mills arnt the best idea. Or cheapest. But at least it dosnt destroy out world and ozone like nuclear power coal power. And oil.
