"“Banking on Arizona’s abundant sunshine, Apple will create a new solar grid in the city for the facility’s power,” Gigaom reported. In addition to solar, the plant will also use geothermal energy, according to Forbes."
So, what does Jim McDonald from APS have to say about this? Bringing up to 2,000 jobs to Mesa, does McDonald still think Apple with their solar PV and geothermal are costing APS ratepayers who don't have solar, more each month? Will APS even take on the issue with Apple being the solar adopter in this instance? What is APS not paying out in "avoided" costs because of Apple's move to produce their own power where they manufacture? Will people in the area benefit from a decrease in KWh rates? Naw, APS will benefit from Apple's move to install solar PV and keep the "avoided" costs as well deserved profit.
