What I would like to see in articles debating 'green' energy initiatives is an emphasis on problem solving. Those who don't want windmills blocking the view of nature need to understand that if we could reduce our 'need' for electricity, then we might not need the windmills. The energy we use has to come from somewhere, and fossil fuels, waste and pollution are rapidly destroying the ecological fabric that supports the 'real' economy and the habitable earth.

Those advocating for wind farms need to understand as well that conservation is the true heart of any rational energy policy. There are no panaceas. Renewables will only make a substantial impact if the load is reduced.

Our dinosaur consumption-based economic philosophy is based on an infinite supply which is insane.'The Economy' is the problem... A conservation-based economy is not only possible, it is the only path away from economic and environmental suicide. There are many nuances for any region of the world.- That's what people should be discussing before burning more coal or proposing windmills.- "How can we reduce our electricity, fuel and water consumption? How do we reduce and mitigate the toxic chemicals and waste that we have been loading on our environment? How do we convert all the work that needs doing into jobs? How do we restructure our economies; local, national and global to support the long term health of our people, the resource base, and the essential ecological fabric?"

Our species learned to fly. We are capable of cooperative problem solving. "A modern economy is largely an illusion we've bought into. A better illusion is possible." - Regenerative Economics.- Now is a good time...
