More like spin and misinformation. S&M?

"Sounds straightforward. Green energy, right?"

Actually it requires almost as much energy BUT it is domestic energy (coal and NG) for the most part. So it weans the US off of imported oil (and this is successful) while at the same time replacing a toxic octane booster (MTBE) in cars and enabling cleaner burning engines and better emissions control.

See how they spin it? And the real story?

"But ethanol helps reduce global warming?"

Never it's main purpose. Again, a strawman that they set up.

"Q:The ethanol industry disputes those numbers and says no virgin land has been lost. What gives?"

"A: The government only started tracking this in 2012. The USDA concluded 38,000 acres were lost that year. "

See the spin? They imply that prior claims of no lost land were because it wasn't being accounted for, yet cannot be shown to have actually SAID that. It is only your 'inference' from the WAY they phrase it.

The real fact is that almost all land is old farmland from the 'land banks' designed to take farmland offline, not being put back because we need it again. No 'virgin prarie' lost.

ETc. Etc. Etc.
