Droughts, melting ice caps and glaciers, rising sea levels and mass extinctions will all be a reality unless the U.S. and the world cut back on carbon emissions dramatically, said James Hansen, director of ...

There once was an environmentalist from Spokane, and they called him Insane. And then one day it sunk in, global warming was a fun spin!

But now it's all over, the sham was just a cover, and the Man from Spokane, remained utterly Insane.

Wow, you just made a valid argument AGAINST the GW theory. If it's not predictable, how the heck did it become a theory?
You Zeplin is going down in a blaze of glory, all brain cells lost.
Are you looking to win or are you looking to make sense?

"Predictable" in the context of that post referred to how much, how soon.

Win what? There's no debate. I'm still wondering who authorized global warming to a theory. How did that process being and progress? What checks were put into place?

I would put it this way: I study a lot, and make up my own mind.

I am not in lockstep with the warming crowd, especially with regard to taxing carbon, to the dearth of investigation into potential negative feedbacks, and the need to invest in geoengineering as the long term solution to stabilizing CO2 levels.

One thing I do know is this: more atmospheric CO2 will cause warming.

If you care to offer the "CO2 lags, not leads" argument, I will break it down for you.

Let me know.

"I study a lot...One thing I do know is this: more atmospheric CO2 will cause warming."

"There is no evidence that CO2 has ever ‘driven’ the climate in the past, nor is there any compelling evidence that it is doing so now."

What did you say? That is what I thought you said:
"I study a lot...One thing I do know is this: more atmospheric CO2 will cause warming."

The ice-core data is frequently cited as principal evidence to argue that CO2 is the earth’s main climate driver. It is, in a way, the jewel in the crown of the theory of man made global warming.

But the ice-core data does not show that CO2 drives climate.

It shows,

very clearly,

that variations in temperature

precede rises in atmospheric CO2 –

not the other way round.

The two phenomena are divided by a time lag of several hundred years.

There is no evidence that CO2 has ever ‘driven’ the climate in the past, nor is there any compelling evidence that it is doing so now.

According to global warming theory, if an enhanced greenhouse effect (from increased levels of CO2 or indeed any other greenhouse gas) is responsible for warming the earth, then the rate of temperature rise should be greatest in that part of the earth’s atmosphere known as the troposphere, specifically in the tropics. And yet the observations, from weather balloons and satellites have consistently shown that not to be the case. I urge readers to look at the Christy et al papers below. The latest one was recently published in the Journal of Geophysical Research (2007). This may seem like a rather technical issue, but it strikes at the very heart of the theory of man made global warming.

I devoted six years to carbon accounting, building models for the Australian government to estimate carbon emissions

There is now no observational evidence that global warming is caused by carbon emissions. You would think that in over 20 years of intense investigation we would have found something.

Oh, you meant to say that you study the AGW crisis peddler shtick. Well, now it all makes sense.

It is quite possible to study the wrong books and come to wrong conclusions, too. Especially when you are just looking for data to backup your pre-conceived ideas.

Ah but he said "more atmospheric CO2 will cause warming"

Not "more atmospheric CO2 will ‘drive’ the climate"

You are attacking a strawman.

We know for a scientific fact that rising co2 causes warming. Whether you want to debate semantics about whether that counts as "driving" climate is kind of irrelevant.

You, as usual are babbling about what you know not. Trying to pretend that driving the climate is different than warming via CO2 is just more babbling AGW crisis peddler non logic. I think it is called stupidity.

CO2 is not driving the climate. Many factors combine to drive climate. CO2 is pushing one climate boundary upward. That will result in a different climate than we have today. How much? How soon? How? Our children's children will learn the answer to that.
Rapidly increasing CO2 is a climate driver.
The lack of evidence for that in the geological record is merely evidence that this has not happened before.
Man was not here before.

Fact is that rising atmospheric co2 has a warming effect. Ie "co2 warms climate" That is a scientifically proven fact.

Only the ignorant and blatent liars will say otherwise.

A deceptive person might not like the fact that "co2 warms climate" and try to imply otherwise without directly lying. To do that they might introduce a new word without defining it hoping it will be confused with with the word "warms". For example they might introduce the word "drive" and then say "co2 doesn't 'drive' climate".

I think your research is viable, as I have done my own, but in the study of photosynthesis and the oxygen-carbon cycles.
The global warming people base most of their research on flawed computer models.

Yeah, that cooling is the wind from Obama's ass. He is lying to America about no taxing of the American taxpayer who makes under $250,000. Proof of his agenda is the Obama/Biden bill S2433, Global Poverty Act. The vote is Thursday, 2/14/09. This legislation would fleece all Americans to the tune of $845 billion to send this money to the United Nations Global Poverty Fund. They would have our money, we would have no say so on how it is used, no oversight. Obama is lying to America that he is not going to raise our taxes. Google this Act, see for yourself. Then click on the area pertaining to your senators, send them your demand they vote NO to the Global Poverty Act, bill # S2433. America is in the red, whatever happened to "country first" mentality? Then after you do that keep this agenda of Obama's ingrained in your mind, remember this in November. Vote NO to Obama too!
