Dr. Garcia hired all his buddies, and now everybody has like 4 assistants and there are coaches for everything, that is just a waste of millions of dollars. They need to get rid of the administrators who are making around $160,000 yearly, for doing what for education? Reading newspapers all day, oh and getting paid for miles for driving for going to lunch. Now Garcia in revenge will start lying off custodians, and paraprofessionals, who are the only ones who work.

Other than Garcia, name one administrator in EPISD that is making near $160,000.

I am very upset at the allegations made by Senator Shapleigh over EPISD campuses cheating and manipulating their TAKS scores to their advantage. I am a teacher who has bared witness to the great efforts made by teachers and administrators making great efforts to help every one of their students to succeed in school. Long hours have been spent discussing and implementing strategies to reinforce the subjects taught without loosing sight of the objectives to be met by the curriculum. Students have also contributed to their success by applying themselves to the rigorous teachings and made great progress in their learning. I will say that there are some students who view school as a burden and do not wish to be schooled. I can tell you that EVERY teacher treats each student with the same regards and high expectations to achieving a high school and college education. I am saddened by the mentality of some of our parents who feel that we are to be held responsible for their child's success when discipline and motivation seems to be lacking at home. If we are to help our students succeed in life, parents, teachers, and administrators must come together as one to guarantee the success of our students achieving a high school education. EPISD encourages and welcomes parent involvement in our schools. Let's not start arguing who is right and who is wrong. The future of our students are being gambled and THEY are the ones who stand to loose the most. Senator Shapleigh will find that EPISD has great teachers and administrators working towards what is best for our students. So, have us investigated. I just hope you will be a bigger person at the end and make a public apology. You have offended a great deal of people and given our students a very low vote of confident.

The retired teacher you are referring to was always drunk in the classroom and was caught drinking at a workshop during lunch.......credibility sucks!

Does anyone see anything wrong with these figures?
These are the students that were not counted in the Accountability ratings given to the public. Paul Strelzin said he had never picked up a booklet (TEST) during his years as an administrator.
Why were 8 picked up at this school? Had these students been profiled as not being able to pass the TAKS test? Guess you don't have to go to Arizona to be profiled.

School --- Students --- Absent -- LEP -- Other -- Non-Acc Test -- Year -- Ranking -- Not Counted -- Percent
KOHLBERG EL -- 397 ------- 0 ---------- 7 ---------- 8 ---------- 6 ---------- 2009 ------ Exemplary ------ 21 ------ 5%
KOHLBERG EL -- 386 ------- 0 ---------- 0 ---------- 0 ---------- 4 ---------- 2008 ------ Recognized ------ 4 ------ 1%
KOHLBERG EL -- 404 ------- 0 ---------- 1 ---------- 2 ---------- 0 ---------- 2007 ------ Recognized ------ 3 ------ 1%
KOHLBERG EL -- 431 ------- 0 ---------- 1 ---------- 0 ---------- 0 ---------- 2006 ------ Recognized ------ 1 ------ 0%

Very well said! The vast majority of the teachers do good work.

Out of 9000 employees, there are always going to be a few disgruntled who love to make trouble for their revenge. I think that's probably what we're seeing with those who are allying themselves with Shapleigh, and making false allegations.

Kudos to the hard-working teachers who ARE teaching our students well, and are helping to improve their grades and TAKS scores!

You know, I've tried and tried to research that, but his schooling prior to college seems to be kept hidden in his own biographies.

Terminally Stupid,

You, Realbore and all the other geniuses who post here no doubt feel zero shame over your imbecilic comments. Lets see....what happened today? Oh yeah...Terri Jordan resigned. Do you wonder if that's part of her plea bargain? How about Garcia's henchman, James Anderson? What's his plea gonna be? Guilty or not?

And what the heck's happening over in Canutillo with their accreditation? Where the heck is Damon Murphy? He was Garcia's chief lieutenant, no te acuerdas?

You bozos have all the answers! Speak up!

By the way, Shapleigh went to Coronado H.S. He was named Outstanding Ex there too years ago! That's why Lorenzo "Genius" Garcia gathered up all the T-Bird students to stand behind him on the stage at Coronado when he put on his pathetic anti-Shapleigh rally, remember?

Truly,
Ura Simpleton
