Apparently the dismal graduation rate (in the 50% range) and the fact most students cannot read or write at their grade level is not a problem in the eyes for this liberal progressive rag.
All that counts is the ideas that have been proven again and again to be non sustaining and failing and not the end results of kids actually getting a good education.
Wonder why the rest of the world is kicking our A**?
When Chicago becomes the next Detroit and anyone that actually produces leaves we will see how the bills for the over priced benefits and pay for teachers get paid (or don't get paid) when the tax base goes away. Tax the crap of those with money to accelerate the decline of the tax base(just ask Maryland and New York how that worked out) when many moved to states with more favorable tax rates.
Seems the dip progressives in California are finding this out in Stockton and San Bernardino about right now with their bankrutpcies. Wisconsin saw the problem and those paying the bills (the taxpayer) got enough and did something about it. They will survive and thrive as a state while others decline.

The real problem is Rahm is a Union Schill who has
no interest in settling anything other than how
much the Unions donate to his causes and how
much he can screw the taxpayers out of.
Remember he is part of the train wreck here along
with Maobama and their supposed wonderful
Superintendent of Schools.
