Mitt Romney's Tax Plan Only Works If Income Inequality Explodes

Aug 31, 2012 | Posted by: Mr_Bill | Full story: www.theatlantic.com

Mitt Romney's tax plan is mathematically possible -- but only if the rich get richer at a level we have never seen before Mitt Romney's tax plan is a logic puzzle.

Mitt Romney's tax plan is a logic puzzle. The details barely exist, but there are just enough of them to infer what the nonexistent details would be if they did exist. Think of it like the LSAT, just with more numbers. Pick up your number two pencils, and let's see what we can figure out. Here's what we know Romney wants to do with taxes based on statements from his campaign, his advisers, and his interviews.

"The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center (TPC) has a head start on us."

The TPC uses 'budget neutrality' based on Obama's stimulus inflated budget and doesn't consider spending cuts.

Another mathematics sleight of hand by the left.

Clue to lamestream partisanship toward lame Present Only Obama:

All current articles listed in the forum on any given day of political nature is heavily if not exclusively weighted toward democrat viewpoints.

Which is another way of saying, the particular media is non-objective, biased and as we've seen loaded with blatant lies and absurd stretched spins on the truth.

DON'T BELIEVE A WORD OF WHAT LAMESTREAM TV AND INTERNET MEDIA SAY UNLESS IT IS TO KNOW TRUTH IS THE DIRECT OPPOSITE OF THEIR PROPAGANDA. What better way to hide the truth than to say the opposite is true? The only form of entertainment these headlines serve is to have a good laugh at what media is capable of fabricating.

Get the word out!

If Romney is not elected the tax plans will be written by Ryan and his buddies tempered by what ever they agree with the senate on.

If Romney is elected then the tax plan will be written by who ever replaces vice president ryan and who ever that persons buddies are in the house tempered by who ever is elected in the senate.

Either way it is not much about Romney so don't salivate too much.

Rmoney's tax plan can also work by cutting 40% of the budget of every govt program, except military, soc sec & Medicaid, of course. Good luck pulling that one off.

Talk about bias, yours is showing. The TPC used Romney's website as the basis for thier analysis. Romney hasn't been very forthcoming with details for his 20% cut in marginal rates and 'base broadening'. So the TPC made assumptions. Those assumptions are forced by reality, though others could have been made, and aparently some were considered and perhaps the analysis recomputed. The paper is very valueable, but not for the numbers and conclusions. What is good for is a basis to question Romney/Ryan on how thier tax proposal will work and the economic enviornment it requires to fix the problem. Ryan's Path to Prosperity is a more detailed and perhaps honest proposal than what Romney has made public.

You are typical, first you assume anyone that is not willing to jump on the bandwagon with you is on the left. Actually I'm more of a liberterian, but Ron Paul, who could and would intelligently talk about policy, is not a factor in the election.
By mindlessly believing that Romney's solutions will work you are making the same mistake that was made in the last presidential election, you fall for well crafted public relations tricks and reject any critical look at the meager policy proposals that are made.
The democrats' performance has been weak, but that is no excuse not to critically look as Romney's proposals. As I said in the last post Ryan's Path to Prosperity, will not very detailed had more substance than what Romney or the Democrats are saying. Sadly, Ryan's speach at the convention suggest that he may be taking a dumbed down approach. To bad, he can do better.

So what, the more details you give the more LEFTY assaults.

Plus look at Obama's details and results.
* Close GITMO
* 5M new Green Jobs
* Reduce deficit by 50% first term
* Immigration reform

The best, not listed, detail is the attitude change toward the private sector from the WH on day one.

Obama's recovery is bogged down just like FDRs was. Hirohito saved FDR's azz and created a recovery for him.

You have no idea what Mitt Romney's tax plan will be. It will have to be worked out in Congress. A Republican Songress, but it is by no means certain what it will be before the election. Now Obama is a sitting President, and we have no idea when he will begin leading, and tell us his tax plan. I know, Obamahood, rob the rich to bribe the poor, and pitiful. Yeah, that's it.

The question is Romney! WHAT ARE HIS PLANS FOR THE ECONOMY AND TAXES? I already know Obama: We had four years to observe him reacting to situations out his control like Europe, China and bubbles!
.
So idiot learn before defecating in this thread! Romney must put the details out first! HE IS THE TRUE UNKNOWN HERE!

The economy in 2013 will be in good condition for whoever wins November.
.
You got a DOW in the 13,000. You got employers with a lot money but don't want to hire people because they got used to with current workforce and the consumers are timid to consume. You got a fking FED giving free money to the big five financial banks. You got a GPD that grows slowly (< 2%). THE BALL IS ON THE PRIVATE SECTOR COURT TO TAKE RISKS! They contributed to the financial-housing bubble now they must deliver. No more tax break for those fking as*hole! No more trade barriers for these as*hole. No more subsidies for big Agro in the midwest (take that freaking alcohol off my gasoline)!!!!

A vote for Barack Obama and Mitt Romney is a vote for the destruction of our country and our economy as well! A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for freedom and liberty!

Sorry , disagree, but impressed by your rant( wink..wink..nod..nod).

We have one convention and three debates so don't" play "so impatient. I'm sure you'll know more by the 3rd week of Oct.

If you don't by then your false alarmist rant will be more viable...capeesh ?

So save your bluster for those can be impressed by it when appropriate.

Romney had a whole year (GOP race) to nucleate, build,exposed or publish his plans for us to digest and you are telling me that three weeks before the election, the as*hole is going to throw a hail Mary pass?
.
You must be a retard!!! The truth is he doesn't have a plan! People with plans bolster about it and he doesn't! CAPICE??
.
I am convince that you have no clue of WTF you are urinating about. At least Paul Ryan has a belief of cutting everything to the bone. Romney is a chameleon all over the place and we can't tell his position or plan!
.
Next time bring the details or SHUT UP SINCE YOU ARE NOT A JUDGE NOR YOU HAVE THE ANALYTICAL TO BE A JUDGE! GO READ BOOK AND GET VERSED IN ECONOMY!!! High Schooler!
