The SATs are a wonderful tool for college bound students and here in the EPISD it is a voluntary test unlike those taken in the Ysleta ISD. There they force every student to take the tests (ACT also)to graduate. EPISD does not force the tests and the student's family pays for the test. YISD does not understand that not every student wants to go to college first thing out of high school. There are trade schools and there is the military. So far the United States Army, Air Force or Navy require a graduation certificate but no SAT test.
SO Y(young)I(idiots)S(stupid)D(du nderhead-ed administrators) delete the requirement for the SATs and ACTs for graduation. No necessary. You have the end of the course test and the state tests.

Just because you crapped out on the test and were forced to serve on a ship with a bunch of sweaty seamen doesn't mean others shouldn't take the test. Plenty score very high each year. Don't punish other children just because you failed.
