I truly wonder about this. What if the kids are just too stupid to learn the higher standards? Holding teachers to impossible standards won't help if the parents of the kids don't care to help their kids learn. At some point "demanding more accountability" hits the law of diminishing returns.

Maybe the teachers are doing their jobs right & the students are just stupid?
