"If you hold those kids back you're not helping them, you're degrading them."

Oh, by the way, it must be degrading to even keep them in school -- why not just graduate them before they start and save all that effort, time, expense, etc.

"School uniforms are the best way to go. They eliminate competition on who's dressed better. They eliminate distractions. If everyone is dressed the same, they're going to pay attention to what they're doing rather than to each other and their outfits"

As much disdain as I have for fashion - I'm for all forms of competition.

Also, it is important for the smarter students to be able to quickly and easily identify the conformist sheep by the 'hollister' labels, gawdy make-up, and whatever recent reality stars were wearing.

This ensures that our future leaders can, at a very early stage, identify potential yes-men, mistresses, and unemployable pop-culture obsessed lemmings.

Fashion is for dolts ... efficiently identifying such inferior bits of humanity is important for superior, nonconformist individuals

Repeating your tired statement over and over again doesn't make it true. If you believe Obama is a communist, give us the evidence that supports your statement. Where is it??? Well? Do you even know what a communist is? I doubt it. Am I right....of course I am!

There is no withdrawal on our parts in Iraq. We will still have over 56,000 troops in Iraq to"fight & assist" the Iraqi government. Quit lstening to that douchhhhe bag Olberman.

Some proof that O is a commie? Sure. Just like all Rs and Ds. The idea of a mixed society with some bits of free market and some bits of socialism is (and can only be, as demonstrated by the Austrian school of economics) incrementalism towards tyranny.

Gross oversimplification of Marx's plan to incrementally bring about the mythical and impossible worker's Utopia:

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose.

(eminent domain, income tax, property tax ...)

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

(IRS)

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

(Inheritance tax)

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

(Janet Reno was GOOD at this one)

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.

(The f'ing Federal Reserve Act)

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State.

(The FCC and gross over aplication of the interstate commerce clause)

7. Extention of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

(GM, Fannie, Freddie, BLM ...)

8. Equal liablity of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

(Minimum wage)

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.

(Corn subsidies for ethanol, HFCS, etc)

10. Free education for all children in government schools.

('education')

Hey may not be banging his shoe on the podium like Kruschev yet, but just like W and basically every president in the last 100 years, O is a commie.

Every article I've read, including Fox News ( http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/08/23/gunme... ) on the subject indicate that all combat operations in Iraq are over and that there are LESS than 50,000 troops in Iraq. The troops now remaining in the country will mainly be responsible for training Iraqi security forces.

I know that you're mistrustful of Presidents, especially after Bush declared that all combat operations in Iraq were over and mission accomplished in 2003, but this time it's for real.

Most of the "proof" you've listed that Obama is a communist have been around for generations. Obama didn't invent free education for children, Obama didn't invent corn subsidies for ethanol, Obama didn't invent the minimum wage, Fannie and Freddie happened under the Bush Administration, the IRS isn't Obama's fault. According to you, we've already been living in a communist country ever since we declared independence from Great Britain. If this were a communist country, the police would be knocking on your door right now to take you to work in a coal mine without a trial for speaking out against the state....MORON!

The problem with your tirade is, that none of this was created by Obama, this is simply the way America has become. This didn't happen overnight, it's been years ot stupid people agreeing to giving up their rights and freedoms and buying into all this stupid shitt, and getting others to do so as well. It has nothing to do with Obama, per se.

SoundOff: "Susana Martinez thinks that holding back people in class is the key to making education work. I would not want my daughter there with a 21-year-old. If you hold those kids back you're not helping them, you're degrading them."

First off, I agree with you ... a 21-yr old should not be in secondary school any longer (except in Arkansas). I disagree with your notion that passing kids who are failing is the answer; that practice is part of the reason the government schools are getting such bad marks themselves.

Students must be held accountable for their own progress, and their reaching certain benchmarks provided by a grading system must determine whether they move on or are held back for more instruction at the level they failed.

I didn't say O was the FIRST communist. moron.

You're amazing for accusing a previous commenter of not understanding communism. Marx and Engels were quite clear in stating that it would take generations of incremental movements to acheive their utopia.

But, of course, it is not acheivable. It dismisses that the naturally existing lack of equality between individuals and availability of resources, it also does not take into account the choices and subsequernt actions of individuals as the root of all society.

You really think you want to go on challenging my knowledge of such ideologies? Only someone who really gets them and has learned about their history would be as dead set against them as I am.

You have no idea what you're talking about, and have likely not read a word of the foundations of the ideologies you promote or criticize; you just want to defend your stupid political team for the sake of your insignificant pride.

I totally agree.

O isn't the first.

The real root lies in a question of how and why Marx became more widely distributed and read than Bastiat and his contemporaries. THAT is the real mystery, the answer to which may identify the real culprit and an unmatched supervillian of history.

Okay, not unmatched, Maynard Keynes - worst human ever. Yes, worse that Mao, Hitler, or Stalin. Or Nero or Walt Disney for that matter.

I believe in school vouchers. I believe that we have the right as taxpayers to choose if we want our kids to go to private schools. I don't think it is just for the wealthy.

You have every right to send your kids to private school. I have every right not to have to pay for it. If you want your kid in private school, get out your checkbook. You pay for it.
Why is it that all you parents think that the public has to take care of your children? You had them, you support them. I already pay way too much to raise your children. You want me to educate them, feed them, clothe them, give them religious training and you probably want me to buy them their first car too. 50%of my state taxes go to support your kids (I don't have any, never did). That is way too much.
Again, you had them, you raise them (and pay for it). If you don't like this, don't have any kids.

You know, it really is too bad that people with ability to think so clearly often times fail to pass their genes on to a new generation. It kind of defeats the whole Darwinism thing...

...all I hear is blah, blah, blah. Specifically, which banks, insurance, or auto company has the government taken over? The government has given loans to some of these companies, which have been or are being paid back, but the government hasn't "taken over" any of them. Helping people in trouble isn't communism, and it's been going on for much longer than Obama has even been alive.

Why am I even arguing with this dumbass???
