"I believe in school vouchers. I believe that we have the right as taxpayers to choose if we want our kids to go to private schools. I don't think it is just for the wealthy."
The problem with school vouchers is that there is nothing that shows private schools are consistently better than public schools. "Vouchers and Public School Performance: A Case Study of the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program" (2007) couldn't show any statistically difference over all.
This coupled with the quality of some private schools and that some want this program for RELIGIOUS reasons (so their kid don't have to learn "Evilution") I have major reservations regarding it.

I would love to hear stats on BHO's travel compared to other Prez's. It seems this guy is constantly on the campaign trail. Every week he is off on some trip praising his fantasy economics and STILL Bush-bashing. No doubt that things started when Bush was Prez, but good grief, how long can this be used as a starting sentence for every BHO speech.
This incompetent so-called leader continues to deflect his actions of failure to blaming someone else. At some point in time he has to understand that he is "the man"!

Your comments may be correct, but I am somewhat doubtful that there isn't a difference in academic result. Another thing to consider is the cost factor difference of both. I have read some articles that private costs are considerably lower than public costs. If this is a truth then this alone makes it a strong endorsement for having more kids in private schools.
Some complain that taxpayer money has to be diverted, but if dollars are diverted based on student cost then it approaches a zero sum factor. Regardless, private education has many positive aspects and needs to be given more responsible and less political consideration. We are always concerned about the 'child', yet we find ways to perpetuate a highly bureaucratic institution that is less successful each year in its chartered and expected responsibilities!

I am tired of hearing people speak poorly of Las Cruces and it's way of life. If you don't like it here, then there are plenty of other places to live the life you would enjoy. Please stop the negativity. For some of us this is not a stop on the way, but rather our beautiful home.

In this country you can choose your location. If someone is doing nothing but complaining about everything in the Community (which you came to-it didn't come to you) then it is time to go. BUT, and I must remember this, there are some people who complain about everything because to them the glass is ALWAYS half-empty. To these people I simply say GO AWAY and let us live where we want are happy!!!!
