Vouchers are the only Constitutional means for government to provide school funding. Any other means and any goverment strings attached to control the curriculum of any school is a violation of first admendment ("Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."}

Shame on Ohio for using taxpayer money for the support of religious schools. Shame on you.

YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. OUR STATE CONSTITUTION SAYS NOTHING ABOUT VOUCHERS/FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR PRIVATE, RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS. IT ADDRESSES ONLY THE FUNDING OF "NORMAL" OR PUBLIC SCHOOLS. DON'T LIKE IT? THEN CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION.
NOT ONE STATE HAS EVER APPROVED SCHOOL VOUCHERS AT THE BALLOT LEVEL. EVEN CONSERVATIVE UTAH SHOT VOUCHERS DOWN 2 TO 1 A FEW YEARS BACK- NOT ONE SINGLE COUNTY IN THAT STATE APPROVED THE ISSUE. YOUR KID IS ENTITLED TO A FREE PUBLIC SCHOOL- IF YOU DON'T WANT IT THEN YOU PAY FOR THE PRIVATE SCHOOL. I DO NOT WANT MY TAXES SUPPORTING YOUR KID'S RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION OR INDOCTRINATION...JIM, COLUMBUS

The annual cost for one child to attend a full year of pubic education in the state of Ohio is $10,173 ( see source: http://www2.census.gov/govs/school/08f33pub.p... This is the table of contents page which will direct you to go to page 14. Please be sure to check the contents page (4) for it labels it as per public pupil). The award of the EdChoice Scholarship begins at $4,250 and maxes at $5,000, which is approximately a difference of $5,173 of YOUR tax dollars that is NOT being put toward my child's education.
If we were to get technical, I pay a great deal in taxes each year myself, and if your child attends a public school, I believe you owe me a "thank you"!
For me, it really has absolutely nothing to do with the religion aspect of the education, as much as it does have to do with the quality of education. As the leaders of OUR tomorrow, I would think you would have a little more gratitude for the amount of effort I put toward the level of education my child receives. "No child left behind" means the ones that never had an issue are waiting for the slower children to catch up. If you want to change any part of the constitution, amend the aspect of decreasing productivity in a child's education and in its place, creating better requirements to advance from grade to grade.
