The state will reimburse the school districts where they will be attending, with WHAT, your tax dollars? Vouchers will provide parent/s (plural, mostly singular) with the opportunity to send their children to OTHER public/private/charter schools. Thereby dragging those institutions into the gutter as well. Shipping an under-performing (so called) student to another setting will do absolutely no good if that (supposed student) does not WISH to learn. We were told decades/dollars ago, with school desegregation, that was the end all solution??? Then the "no child left behind", then the present "school nutrition programs". How did they turn out??? Something about "a horse to water, but..."! Give me a break! Not the schools that are broken (???) but the families that are broken (???)! Send any student with caring/supporting/nurturing parents into the halls of the city schools and those student will do well, regardless. We never hear about the above average/high performing students at York High; why is that? And there ALWAYS were and will be those type students. Dumpin' more money into the proverbial rat hole will do absolutely no good. Those same students will be in school approximately 7 hours per day, then dumped back into the hell hole for the remaining 17 hours. Yea, buy all of them a new home and/or cheap condo in the burbs...yep, that will also make a huge difference. Ever hear of my: "can't make chicken salad out of chicken #hit"? Just more monies spent on those who DO NOT give a damn; that would be children and/or parent/parents! But must say the 'diversity programs' are makin' great strides, correct??? You think your school taxes are too high now, hang on, you ain't seen nothing yet!
