Time for Gene Harris to take a 25% pay cut! See how much she really cares for the children!

Maybe Harris should start budget cutting by eleminating her security detail (Columbus police) and city vehicle. I can't imagine she being on the list of terrorist targets .

Of course Gene Harris doesn't want charter schools!

Remember everyone to get your property tax reduction requests in by March 31st to the auditor!

Go to Franklin County Auditor site under board of revision and print off the two pages!

Easy to fil out , no appraisal needed, just get notarized.

Most requests are honored, save hundreds or thousands a year in property taxes.

Let's stop the ridiculous 'retire' and 'rehire' practices that has been going on in this district for years. If you retire, than retire, and bring in someone younger at a lesser salary that deserves a chance to succeed too.

This constant bringing administrators back that have retired with full pension and then re-hiring them back at the same or comprable salary is ridiculous.

All of you all are nuts. You have a governor that is making it nice for the rich by lowering their taxes and stripping the middle class of their salaries to make up the difference. Gene Harris don't control the state budget.....the governor you elected does. You all are not up on your game. You need to read and understand what is really going on. The information is in the Dispatch....just read it. Cuts mean loss of jobs....maybe your loved ones are going to lose their jobs and then you will see....oops maybe folks don't work in your family....
What is this retire, rehire....that went out years ago. You are not up on your game, meaning you are behind the time or meaning you didn't get the memo with the current info on it.

I smell another levy. If they were honest about how much a levy would actually cost a homeowner while the school board was campaigning for it, it would never pass. The 2008 levy passed because renters with no skin in the game were targeted to vote for it. Columbus taxes are starting to look like the surrounding communities like Worthington , so I might as well move there.

If the buildings being leased out are good enough for "charter" students why were they not good enough for Columbus City School students? I posted this question earlier this am. Have no idea where the early posts go. Is Harris overseeing this web site? LOL

I guess you could start saving by not replacing Kim Norris who resigned. Her $103,000.00 a year salary as District Spokesperson is questionable. Why does a system of all college grads need a spokesperson, can't people stand on their own 2 feet or is it a matter of creating 1 lie at a time for the District? What other positins can be eliminated that we don't know about.

Much deeper cuts were predicted. Now it sounds like Columbus schools are suprised at the cuts, and need to break a promise. They are always willing to break a promise when it comes to gaining more revenue to waste.

If Columbus wants to spend 60 million on one bridge that could have been built for under 20 million, it is their business. Instead of talking about being up on ones game, lets quit playing games, tax money from people of Columbus should pay for Columbus. If Columbus thinks an extra 40 million for one bridge is a better than security in schools, why should people in the rest of the state argue with them.

To Marilyn,
Are you kidding about the rehire/retire? You're not up on YOUR game, this is still going on, in fact it happened again this year. Research it.
They just don't want the public to know about it.

The education cuts are just another example of our new governor's strategy of pushing the state budget problems to others. "Make the schools and local governments figure out the mess that my Lehman Brothers helped create. Oh, and don't forget the tax cuts for my rich contributors and corporations." Just more of the "give me something for nothing" thinking that got voted into office in November.

Did anyone ever actually believe Gene Harris's election levy promises in the first place? Gene Harris lied plain and simple. Fire Gene Harris. She is like that floater that keeps on clinging to the surface after you've flushed everything else away.

Exactly; however, what renters don't often understand is that the levy is reflected in thier rent (unless they are on a "fixed" rent).
