They shouldnt pass the levy. They should cut everything, put 40 kids in a class, lay a bunch of people off and watch our kids suffer. Thats a great idea. Then all of new lenox willl be happy!

monopoly you are an ass.

I take it that you have enough kids in district 122 to make it worth it for you while your neighbors pick up the slack. So how big is your gaggle of offspring that your neighbors help pay for? Despite some of them losing their homes, working multiple jobs to make ends meet, making cuts within their own household budget to insure they’re not greeted at the mailbox with a nice tax lien notice. Please do not even try to come back with any number less than 3. Your post precedes you. NO ONE is calling for 40 children per class you ass. Last I checked, class sizes within district 122 were in the low to mid 20’s. It is foolish and myopic people like yourself that only see what benefits you. 45% of MY 8k tax bill goes to district 122 and I do not even have a child in the district. The sad thing about that is there are probably more people with tax bills greater than mine in the same position and before you start the ‘just move then’ bs, I nor anyone else who shares the same opinion as I that Sass has no other agenda than making sure his retirement is well padded should have to pay for your gaggle nor move. I love the home I have earned as well as my neighbors. If it means an increase in class size (not the 40 you so eloquently proposed) or a cut in extracurricular activities so be it for the greater good of the community as a whole. We have Sass himself admitting in a meeting in November that the economy is in bad shape and state funding has declined severely over the last five years.. Now I’m not a product of ‘everyday math’ but 2012-5= 2007. If memory serves, NLDS 122 was operating under a balanced budget in 2008 (apologize I do not recall if it was the 07-08 or 08-09 school year) with a 9 million dollar surplus. I believe they referred to the surplus as the ‘rainy day’ fund. So where is the surplus now Sass? The explanation that if they do not apply the max percentage on the tax levy they will lose X amount of dollars in state funding is an obvious defect in the system that if it was ‘all about the kids’ Sass should be all over Springfield. Is he? I would bet dollars to donuts he isn’t. Why? Because the easy way out is to apply the max percentage. Must be nice to be surrounded by a school board of yes men & women to make your overly compensated position that easy. Be proud Sass.

Kudos to Board Members Smith and Broderick for voting no. Shame on the rest of them. You bought into Sass’s bs and did not make him work.

Class sizes were in the low to mid 20's in school years past, but not this year. They are close to 30. The only thing this board and boards past have accomplished is lining the pockets of the political administrators. The board has been stacked for years in Sass' favor. As long as he has the board he chooses we will be gouged on taxes. They are very good at wasting money. Don't forget about them dividing an ex administrator's salary amongst themselves behind closed doors.

The boards job is to provide oversight for the taxpayer. Sadly it doesn't appear they do that in this district. They need to learn what fiduciary duty means. Maybe they can buy themselves a dictionary or google it on one of their ipads.

Hey Nope, there is a great deal you don't know about those board members. Actually, there is a gre at deal you just don't know. Go ask some Questions, do some research, and then don't be so angry. We live In a good town, with good schools, good property values, it's not so bad. Merry Christmas Nope.

What questions should NOPE ask? At least NOPE is pretty accurate and direct. "Confused" - can you be a little more direct also?

The district is joke- from Sass' salary and benefits package to teachers retaining their job when they should have been fired due to poor performance to the hiring of poor teachers because of connections in the district and to the dismissal of good teachers because of favoritism.
