one moment of bed judgement is going to flush 20 years of good down the toilet. Doesn't he read the paer or watch the news? What is this, the fifth or sixth story of this behavior from a teacher in the last three months?

Yep, this is what SIU is for, investigating actual cases.
Not for getting terminating good employees with clear records for no real reason.
Too many have been taken out that never deserve it. Employees that have been charges that do not involve students. IT'S a witch hut of a system. Be VERY VERY careful if your in Broward Schools. It doesnt take much to get on the list and get the axe. Ive seen it first hand.
SIU can find anything even if it doesnt make any sense. Having employees sit doing nothing, collecting their checks on reassignment, waiting for SIU to terminate them. Cutting the budget it seems, in one of the most bizarre ways. Really sad system...

bullfighter if you cant figure it is all about working for the school board, that is a double shame.
SIU, Special Investigative Unit, is used to investigate cases for the school board such as this.
A reassignment means doing nothing and collecting your check till they take you down in kangaroo court. Bless the school board employees!
A really bad move or accusation could take your career away and splash it all over the paper with your picture. Then again a move or dislike can get you on a witch hut list, your gone too.
SIU also takes out many employees that do not deserve it. SIU can find reasons that make no sense and the employee gets terminated.

Just terminating anyone with an investigation. SIU gets a very successful rate of cases. BRAVO! LOL

he was an honest man who stumbled... seriously, just don't start making accusations.
In one of the reports it even stated this is his first time.
and im sorry to say that even so, this doesn't seem very possible. This is killing me, it truly is.
Mr. Pittman if you are reading this, i support you. IDC what's going on, you are still the most influencial person in my life.

What a shame- point taken. Sure there are bad apples in every basket.
I for one know first hand of those (and some really good apples) that are sitting in reassignment for some of the most bizarre reasons and ultimately loosing out on a career and the pension they could have had.
AS far as this case:
There is always three sides to every story, anyone with common sense knows that.
Any story that hits the paper, is a gonner. SIU makes sure of that, sorry to say...

There is way too much left out of this story and I know that Mr. Pittman will be redeemed when this is over. Unfortunately, some morons (like some who have posted here) fully accept everything that the media has to offer, no questions asked. Grow up, read a little and learn that what the media presents are NOT always fact. It's a sad day when our society takes the MEDIA for its word. Get a life to all of you. Another classic example of a great man having crap slung his way.

He then recongnized, and pullerd away immediatly." Also, when it says he confessed his love... he could have said something like, "I care for you..." and that is what he says to ALL his students and his students' families. Please... you guys don't really know Mr. R. Pittman

If this mand would not have entered my life I would not be the same person. Thanks to this man I excelled in music and became passionate about something in this horrible world. He was one of two teachers that I would look at as a father figure. There is no way this story happened the way the media is saying. I am deeply hurt that this has happened and I just cant except this story. You have to have known this man to understand. Why else would there be hundreds of students of his coming out of the woodworks to defend his honor.

They terminate for alot less reasons...
Why would anyone want to teach if this is all it takes???

I'm sorry, I'm a pretty open-minded/liberal person..but there is ABSOLUTELY nothing that you could say or do to possibly convince me (and others) that this guy was a good person. I've thought about it in several different ways but nope, just can't do it. Wake up kids!!MOST child molestors are like best friends/father figures!!! Of course they're going to be the coolest people in the world!! That's how they are able to get close to you and take advantage. Accept that your favorite teacher was a perv and move on.
