A Douglass Middle School English teacher was arrested by the FBI Thursday for receiving, possessing and distributing child pornography.

Wow the FBI had to do the WPD job, this guy has been getting away with this type of behavior for along time, and what is puzzling the principal and other teachers had no clue what so ever, about this teachers being abscess with little boys, i am pretty sure at least one of these other teacher knew what this teacher was doing, and said nothing, i wonder if the FBI could reopen the Brett Pedroia case, if this guy is getting prison time, Mr Pedroia should to, GREAT JOB FBI.

The story was pretty clear that this pervert was doing what he was doing from his home so I do not see how the principal or other teachers could have known what he was doing. Also, the story pretty clearly points out that he was caught by the FBI through agents that troll the sick websites that these predators use to communicate with each other...I do not think the WPD, or any other city, has the resources to monitor such things...I do agree with you last point, Good job by the FBI.

THANK YOU to WJUSD for FINALLY DOING SOMETHING RIGHT and calling parents to notify of this situation immediately - other situations (no water at plainfield, pedophile stalking schoolgirls) have had a very delayed response from WJUSD, but this time they got it right.

Please continue to keep us parents informed about issues that affect the safety of our children. While I appreciate the Daily Democrat's coverage, I should not have to rely entirely on it.

This is so sad and shocking. My fear is that victims will start to come forward. He was looking at sick pictures at home (12000 of them!) and was surrounded by young males all day. It seems probable that he would be acting out somehow. Please please let me be wrong.

Amen to that! My son spent many of days with him and other boys from his soccer team....... this is very disturbing. I know his team is blown away by this. I can only begin to imagine how violated they must feel.

Let hope he gets help for his sickness and that none of his students were involved in any way. I know how much he touched the hearts of his students. My son was at Douglass last year and says the same about Mr. Tomsett.
