In Knox County, new subs have to be drug screened, but I think once a teacher has been there for 3 years, no one cares

A mistake? A mistake? Our kids are left alone with this guy for hours and hours at a time, both on and off campus, and we are just supposed to say its all a mistake? Not on your life dude, and not on my child's either!

Oh That Is NO MISTAKE, we have a CRISIS on our hands if the band director is keeping himself high on and off school hours. Make NO mistake about it, Taking pills without having/ getting a script was his biggest mistake.

He made a mistake, Turley is a really good man and cares alot about his students, and would never put them in danger. Hear this out: Nobody was ever in danger, NEVER AT ALL!

So if the teacher had a script it would be ok? Does that mean by some magical way the drugs effects are different because a doc prescribed them? You are f'n retarded.

This guy has not been to court yet. None of us knows what the entire story is. Everyone seems so quick to condemn. Remember there are two sides to every story and you have only read one side. Being charged does not equate to being guilty, well I guess it does in Hamblen county.

I'm tired of hearing everyone saying no one was ever in danger. He was impaired enough for it to be obvious. Drugs alter a persons mind and sometimes they don't know what they're doing. He could have became violent at school or ran over someone on his way home. Thank goodness it didn't happen, but to say noone was never in danger is just doesn't make sense.

An authority figure should set an example of how to conduct oneself, in school and at home. They should reflect good morals and character as a teacher. When their credibility has been questioned, their image is tarnished. Whether convicted or not, the incident/arrest will be remembered.

I went to school with Dustin, and he was high almost daily it seemed like. I hate to say that, but when I heard that he got the job at East High, I knew it wouldn't last.
