The high school students on David Monteith's bus sometimes point and snicker at the billboard advertising free condoms as he drives past.

WLOS-13 ran this on the 6 o'clock news on 6-1.
Two interviewed in opposition to the billboard are a joke. One don't know how to use soap and water and has to that end successfully avoided any use of birth control or any other close contact, and the other advocates population control by supporting a relative who supervises child protective services in the area.

News flash, people! Too many people are too likely to practice unprotected intercourse. I do not support it in any way, but fact is it happens. The health department is doing a wonderful thing to offer free condoms for those too ignorant or too careless to take care of themselves. Ignorance or dislike of the facts don't make them go away.

Lulz.
Abstinence indeed. Two hot n horny teens out for some parking and sparking ain't gonna abstain when the hormones begin to roar.

More people should use condoms, most of them in fact. If you're relying on Planned Parenthood, you're doing it wrong. Just think of all that funding wasted on sex education.

For some I might suggest a hammer, for their opposites they should just pour it full of quikrete.

For the record Mr Monteith has never raised the first teenager. If he wants to get fundamental religious, he married his second wife while his first divorced wife was still alive. He doesn't have kids at all probably never had the need for a condom. Mr Montieth needs to separate church and state matters. He works for all the different religious groups in the county. Better yet go be a preacher I for one think he would be a better preacher than a commissioner.

You hit the nail on the head. Monteith makes comments about everything under the sun without any regard to who it might hurt or bother. When will the people of Swain County wake up and stop voting him into office?

I moved to this what I thought was a GREAT community only to be laughed at. If you are born and bred here you might as well stay if you you wish to gripe about a billboard. OBVIOUSLY, you are one that was a teen parent and have raised kids to do the same. WHY does this community not want to become better? Why is it acceptable to be pregnant before your twentieth birthday? Is it so you can participate with them in school all over again and not feel "aged"? If we are in the Bible belt, why do you raise your kids to screw? There is not any Love or excuse me "puppy love" come on people this community is pregnant crazy, un-educated, has many High School drop outs, many drunks and many meth users. WHY don't people want this changed? This is awful! This is pathetic! Kids should NOT be having sex like they do inb this county of North Carolina it is as though its a favorite past time.
