Thank goodness it is over! The district has suffered under this regime--massive student exodus, steady increase in achievement gap, cuts in programs that work. While Doctor Damelio was in charge, Vallejo became one of the worst districts in the state for children of color. http://reportcards.edtrustwest.org/district-d...

Hopefully, now that these incompetent fools are totally gone, the district can work on repairing itself.

For children of color?? Teach them to pull up their pants. This can and should be done at home.

Does anyone know why Gladys Phillips-Evans was never brought up on embezzlement charges? She had retirement checks going out to dead people and they were being cashed by someone. She had her daughter or other family relation teaching without a credential on and on. Why was there never a trial for these crimes?

Get out of your house, friend, and meet the kids of Vallejo. These kids care, their parents care and the district makes it harder and harder for them to get a good education. Why would Vallejo schools be worse than Oakland schools? Why are they worse than Compton? It's not the kids, it is the management.

I remember reading somewhere that she is currently employed with the state's Department of Education. Can you freaking believe that?!

I'm sure you are well-meaning, but you are incredibly misguided. The families of these children are directly responsible for the mess our schools are in. The staff is dealing with violent children with absolutely no coping skills to speak of. They in turn destroy the chances of good kids receiving a decent education. Ghetto schools are what we have now. And that is the fault of the kids who attend and their parents.
