Better than being the one who voted "yes" and sent my kids to DES instead of St. Johnsville which many, many "yes" voters have done. Why????? And they won't send their kids back if the merger goes through. Why didn't those people send their kids to St. Johnsville if they want the merger with them so bad? That is very confusing to me. I sent my kids to DES because the merger vote came up again and I don't want my kids in St. Johnsville. A waiting list was already in place and I was fortunate enough that my kids' grades were not closed like they are now. The waiting list for DES is very long now so I beat the rush as did the many other parents. If the merger goes through the DES waiting list will only continue to grow.

Maybe if Princess really went to Dolgeville and not St. Johnsville she would have spelled it right as well,

Yes, bring your students, we welcome them all who wish to come here. We have an open enrollment policy which will allow all who want to come can come. Welcome!!
OEres states:Dolgeville has graciously accepted the 100+ OE students who have transfered there in the last 2 years..... Dolgeville currently has a waiting list of 50+ OE students who want their children to go there instead of St. Johnsville in the event of a merger.....so is it an open door or not?...and if the merger goes through or not, what is the difference? you can still send your kids to dolgeville. oh, i forgot ...bus run will need someone to drive our kids to dolgeville if they tuition out. Frasier will have a job with a longer bus run. This only happens if K-6 is still here. OMG what a joke you are.

One last point...if Dolgeville takes our kids in the tuitioning out process, We will still have to maintain our building without any additional state aid. What will this do to our taxes?

Will they take all our kids? If they have the room, why is there a waiting list? The reason is because football is very important to them and if they take any more students, they will increase enrollment too much and will be forced to play schools of compareable size in sectionals. This will eliminate any chance for a Dolgeville state title. Do you think we are more important than a football title to them? No Way!

So our plan is to eliminate our Junoir High and High School instead of merging it? NO More Band Forever!

Now we are attacking people's grammar and spelling? Really? So when we have nothing better to attack people with we can always insult their intelligence by pointing out their spelling and grammar mistakes. This is just pathetic. People are typing on computers and phones and other devices. Sometimes things get misspelled. Look at FB it happens all the time. Don't sink so low that we have to insult each other because of something so insignificant. I would hope we are better than that.

People make choices based on what is the best for them and their family. Should we really be insulting, threatening and attacking them for their choices? Stop judging everyone else and look in a mirror.

People need to stop being rude, nasty and just plain cruel over this merger. Do what is best for your family and have the "balls" to stick by your choice and what you believe. My "no" vote doesn't make me a bad person just as your "yes" vote doesn't make you a bad person. We vote because fortunately we have the right to choose and to support what we think is best. Courtesy, respect and simple "niceness" is something and maybe we should all just try being nice to each other. Stop being bullies and attacking each other!!!

This vote doesn't determine who we are but our words do.

Just to make you more educated, should Dolgeville ever get all of the OE high school students, the enrollment wouldn't move the Blue Devils up to Class C in any case, the numbers from OE just wouldn't justify the move upward. Just want you to have the FACTS!

Please give me your numbers. I may be reading this wrong but I just looked it up and with our total enrollment, you move to the size of Little Falls. Dosent that put you in class C?

Go to the NYSPHAA site and click on Football, you will see the bed number cutoff. Now add the 9 - 12 boys to our boys numbers and you will see what I am talking about.

Why is OE not atleast trying to make a go of it. DCS makes a lot more sence since sinse(you pick)then St J. OE has the same BOCES as DCS so there is a cost cut. DCS allready has a foot ball team, just mentioning this because I know some are only basing their vote on sports. DCS has worked with OE in the past and even excepted OE back without slapping their faces, even after RUSSOM changed his mind and was rude. I would be willing to bet more would be willing to go to DCS then ST J, oh wait, ooooops, guess that's allready happened.

I am more than willing to merge with Dolgeville, We would then get the 14 million aid bump plus probably more. It has always been my understanding that they (Dolgeville) did not want a formal merge because they would be tied to us "for-eeeever" as a former board member in Dolgeville has repeatedly told me.

I hope so. If oe tuitions to dolgeville our taxes should never go up. I was told that the additional aide from oe would offset taxes and we would not need to raise taxes on Dcs residents.

Best of both worlds are classes would be 25-30 and use existing teachers so we don't have to cut our staff.

I also heard that if we accept tuition that includes elementary and since oe would have an elementary school they would either have to go back or pay tuition themselves.

Some of you people are really clueless.
First of all I have spoken to some from OE that were Pro-Merger and ended up sending their kid to Dolgeville. It is because of the ignorance in OE not people of St. Johnsville. They don't want to be around these people ever again. Ask them! They were betrayed and are embarressed of the communities mentality. They don't want to be with St. J if they are possibly gonna merge with the idiots. That is why!
Secondly, how backwards is OE? They are in Fulton County and the Ful/Mont. BOCES is closer to that school than St. J, I mean Hello!
Lastly, there is no deal for a merge with Dolgeville. Duh. Dolgeville will be willing to take you over, but it will never happen! There is other schools that would like to increase head-count also. So OE WILL be split three-ways. Hell, they can't figure out their own future so it will be figured out for them.
AND WHEN IT ALL GOES DOWN REMEMBER: Frasier, Souza, Wiltsie, Schell and the others(If anyone knows names feel free to list).

I am all for the annexation of OE, just like Stratford was annexed only this time the OE school can still be used for elementary and possibly Middle school. Sounds like a good plan to me!

Not how annex works. Savings are through complete absorption of district. I would vote no just like I did in 2004 if my kids had to be bussed to oe. If you wanna come here, just like Stratford, close the building and come.

Last merger vote dolgeville voted no 732-109. Merger will never happen.

By KARI INGERSOLL Observer-Dispatch DOLGEVILLE - The people have spoken - and they have said a merger between the Dolgeville and Oppenheim-Ephratah central school districts is not a good idea. A record number of voters cast their ballot in Dolgeville Wednesday and defeated the proposal to pursue the merger by a 701 to 183 margin. In Oppenheim, voters also rejected the proposition with 318 votes against and 275 in favor of the reorganization. "People want .....

I know no one here in Dolgeville that wants to bus our kids up to that place.

I'm just wondering how many people who are so afraid of "not having a say over anything" were ever really involved in OE School politics to begin with. They probably never even showed up to Parent/Teacher Conferences.
