If the aren't getting killed driving cars, they have to run in front of cars and get killed. Teens just don't want to live long, do they?

Wow valkyrie a child was killed and you make a smart ass comment like that. For sure you dont have kids and when you do you'll see how idiotic your comments are. Ellie it happened at 630PM. This wasnt a boy who was up to no good they were at a park playing riding their skateboards and bicycles. God bless the families involved

My sympathy to the victim and the driver of the vehicle. Sounds like it wasn't the drivers fault. Another young life gone. How tragic!!

God bless the families involved sorry, but i think valkyrie's comment has a grain of truth to it. if kids wanted to live they wouldn't do incredibly stupid things that take their lives away so readily and, unfortunately, so often. in the midst of all we have achieved in this country, we have lost something and these kids are telling us that. maybe it is religion, or at least a spiritual sense of worth and the uniqueness of the opportunity that life is. yes, mercy on all involved, especially the poor parents who probably gave this kid all they knew how to. apparently that is no longer enough for more and more kids.

Why are kids so friggin stupid? Ironic that it was during a class for SATs... generally intelligent kids take the SATs so they can go to college. Running across the highway =/= college material

This is a sad story... I feel sad for this teen's family but what the hell was he doing on the highway? Sorry to say, but no pain can be felt for the teen... he got what was coming to him. Especially at his age he should know not to play in the road let alone a highway... c'mon people. Wake the F up and smell the coffee!!

i can not believe how heartless some of you people are! nobody deserves to die unless they have done some terrible thing like murder someone! this was a young life...a child, a son, a grandson! ever think about that! maybe you should sit back and think about the situation before you open your mouths. we were all teenagers once werent we?

You are right. Though if you are dumb enough to play on the highway, "you get what you got coming to you." have sympathy for the friends and family yes but for that individual, how can you? he did it to himself. I have had mnay people close to me pass due to natural deaths and some accidents. But i have also had a few that were self caused ie. driving under the influence or high speed crashes. I have no remorse for the individuals b/c they did it to themselves. Thought i loved them very much, it's their own fault. Self caused drama is what people feed off of now-a-days. It all comes back to the fact that today people do not take responsibilty for their own actions!!!

That is such a shame. My heart goes out to family of the victim and also to the person who hit the child. Even though it wasn't their fault, to know that you were responsible for the death of another is something that will haunt that person for the rest of their life. As a mother of 3 young children, I can't even imagine the grief this family is experiencing. Hopefully this will be a wakeup call to other young people to not play near heavily trafficked areas.

I feel sorry for the kid and the driver. Regardless of who's fault it was. It's still sad unfortunately. Everyone has done stupid things at one point in time. You never really know how stupid it is until it effects you directly.
