Does her contract provide full pay while on medical leave from Jan 15th until the official retirement date of July 1st? If so, whoever writes these contracts should be let go. Taxpayers need to realize that these folks are important but come on. Who else would get that much time off with full pay?
I believe Upper Perkiomen's superintendent recently did the same. Extended sick leave, then retirement-resignation. Maybe more taxpayers should attend school board meetings! Myself included.

I also am ashamed to say that I need to be more educated on school official policies. Perhaps someone may comment regarding your question of Andrejko's salary continuing into July while she is on "medical leave". If I rely on common sense alone, I would say yes, it will continue.
Her replacement will need to (rightfully) receive a salary, so should I be correct in my assumption, taxpayers will eat the cost of essentially paying two supervisors for 5 or 6 months. I believe the decision as to who to appoint will be made this month, about the 28th.
Many changes need to be made.

The budget and tax increases come from the school board, not the administration.

If you want to blame someone for tax increases, it's the school board who doles out raises to teachers and administrators.

The last two superintendents, Mr. Scanlon and Ms. Andrejko, were both disappointments. Why do we need someone in this very expensive-to-fill position? It seems they've done more harm than good.

Why insult the taxpayers who didn't have any say in replacements (appointments) to fill school board seats with retired educators that their only objective is to fulfill an unspoken agenda for sports, teachers , early retirement incentives and pensions on the taxpayer dime . This union and the legislators that feather their own pockets first should be classified as an outlaw gang stealing money from taxpayers with no means to fight back. Forget voting , that's a foregone conclusion who gets to run for a school board seat . When we get organized enough to fight back it isn't going to be pretty. Enjoy your overextended early retirement incentives they will be coming to a sad end .

Taxing the Marcellus shale drilling or lotteries only adds to school board greed to increase pay and pensions . It does nothing to stop the bleeding of taxpayers that fund all the schools . It certainly does nothing to fund the underfunding of 41 billion in pension obligations . The state legislators don't have the guts to remove the school tax and get it on a consumer tax . They would rather give more welfare and snap to keep the money rolling in .

Do you know how many "retired educators" are on our present school board? Can you name them?

Anderson is the only one, correct?

As for board appointees, Shermer is the only one who filled in van Valkenburgh's seat.

You're jumping the gun . I didn't say I knew about Quakertown . It is all the school boards around Pa . Influence comes to the boards from a lot of different directions . Start with retired superintendents being brought in because of their expertise , screwing the taxpayer for a huge sum , leaving the district and on to another one to bulls@#$ the boards into spending more money to attain worse scores . Start with Persing and see what this retired jerkoff gets paid to influence boards they need to spend more money .
