Phil's mummy would like nothing better than for him to go out and play with normal boys and girls. Instead, he spends all his time inside, cruising topix for any post by myself, djw, coyote, Sir Arthur, zuiko, etc., so that he can read and respond.(and then claim that the posts he reads and responds to are not worth reading and responding to...)

What a loser!

What a loser!
And right on cue Bob seeks out my posts he considers boring and written by one he considers a loser.
What does that make no-life Bob, I wonder.
Bob, what was the subject matter of that 'anonymous' internet forum?
Surely a normal, healthy heterosexual man like you would have nothing to hide or be ashamed of?

That is correct up until about 1990 in both bedales and summerhill. The pool was outside and formed part of a News of the World investigation.

To maintain personal hygiene standards pupils will be required to shower after exercising.
Please ensure your son/daughter is equipped with shower gel and deodorant as this is not provided
by the school.
Please provide the following:
School based P.E.
• Plain white t-shirt • Black shorts or track suit/jogging bottoms
• Sports trainers (not fashion trainers)• Towel
Outdoor pursuits
When an outdoor pursuits session is planned pupils will receive a letter outlining what clothing is
necessary for the activity prior to the day. In order for us to continue to provide an exciting range of
opportunities for pupils you may occasionally be asked for a voluntary contribution to help towards
the running costs of particular activities.
Swimming/Hydro
Swimming lessons take place off site with tuition taking place in small mixed groups of both boys and
girls. We feel strongly that your child would benefit from learning to swim through school, however if
you have specific concerns that may prevent your child participating please contact our P.E.
co-ordinator directly to discuss possible alternatives.
• Girls - full swimming costume (not bikinis)• Boys - trunks or shorts
• Swimming hat (recommended for long hair)• Towel
Hydrotherapy
For those students for whom it is appropriate we offer regular hydrotherapy in our purpose built pool
on site. We also extend the use of the hydro pool to all students in the form of bookable fun sessions
which usually take place at the end of term. If you wish your son/daughter to access the hydrotherapy
pool please complete the attached form.

I disagree. After the most recent Dorset Poole Swimming Test, the harbour was used for the Poole Harbour Invitational Lap swim. Poole High School annually challenges other schools to a nude swim meet.
Salford, Summerhill, Bedales, and Leeds competed against Poole High for the Sussex Tin Cup. This year, Summerhill was the victor, and proud swimmers stood fully nude on the podium to receive the cup from the mayor. The mayor's wife tied a blue victory ribbon on each boy's penis.

Lockte will have to cope without his speedos for 2020

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3ufllw_phil...

Four sponsors have dropped disgraced US Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, including swimwear manufacturer Speedo and fashion label Ralph Lauren.
They were followed by announcements from skin care firm Syneron-Candela and Japanese mattress maker Airweave.
It comes after Lochte lied about being robbed at gunpoint by a policeman after a night out during the Rio Olympics.
Lochte, a 12-time Olympic medalist, has earned millions of dollars through endorsements.
Speedo, the biggest sponsor of the four, said: "We cannot condone behaviour that is counter to the values this brand has long stood for."
Lochte, aged 32, said he respected Speedo's decision, and thanked the company.
"I am grateful for the opportunities that our partnership has afforded me over the years,'' he said.
Speaking on US talk show Today, Lochte said: "I made a mistake and I definitely learned from this. They put on a great Games... and my immature, intoxicated behaviour tarnished that a little."
Ralph Lauren, which has removed some of Lochte's images from its website, said its sponsorship of the swimmer had been only for the Rio Olympics and would not be renewed.
Ralph Lauren and Airweave both stressed that they would continue their support of the US Olympic and Paralympic teams.
Syneron-Candela said: "We hold our employees to high standards, and we expect the same of our business partners.''
Speedo said it would donate a $50,000 portion of Lochte's sponsorship fee to the charity Save The Children's Brazilian operation.
The value of Lochte's Speedo sponsorship has not been disclosed. The contract reportedly expires this year after 10 years.
The US business magazine Forbes calculated that in the year of the 2012 London Olympics, Lochte earned about $2m in sponsorships from companies such as Gillette, Nissan, AT&T and Gatorade.
Lochte's performance at Rio did not reach the heights of his London triumph, but Forbes estimated his endorsements would still have been between $1m-$2m.
Disdain
The saga started when Lochte and three team-mates returned to the Olympic village after a late night out in Rio.
They tried, unsuccessfully, to use the locked toilet at a garage and urinated outside instead.
After first claiming that he and his three team-mates had been robbed by bogus policemen, Lochte back-tracked and admitted he had, while still drunk, "left details out" and "over-exaggerated some parts of the story".
Despite the evidence against him, including CCTV footage, he has however denied that he actually lied in his initial account to Brazilian police.

Nude Swimmer Pretended Cash Con

Lochte, known for competing in swim meets nude, had been out in Rio's gay district, and when caught by paparazzi, tried to claim that he had been taken against his will to this area of town, and had been robbed.
Video footage from several gay bars, however, contradicted his story, showing him dancing happily in these establishments, and eagerly flashing his buttocks, or even stripping completely.

Nissan, Speedo, Puma, Converse, and Chase have all dropped Lochte

Colleges have swim tests, as opposed to just offering swimming as a P.E. option, because it prevents people from drowning. My father had an overprotective mother who never let him swim. Consequently he got to college (Stanford, in his case) without knowing how. He vividly remembers having to learn to swim in order to pass a mandatory swim test, and is self-conscious about his swimming abilities as a result. But at least he is in less danger if he falls out of a boat, or otherwise accidentally ends up in the water. I do think it's a great idea, and should be mandatory at as many schools as possible.

My college had a mandatory swim test, but I was exempt since I had a Red Cross swim card.

Note: Ask Dad if swim class was done in the nude when he was in college.

When they administer the Dorset Poole Swimming Test in the harbour at Dorset, I put on snorkeling gear, and swim, unbeknownst to the boys, underneath them during the test. I like to approach a boy, and 'snorkel' anything hanging down.
When they climb out onto the quay, several of the boys have erections, and complain of having been attacked by blowfish.

Mary Bride Nicholson grew up on the Dartington Hall estate at the heart of Leonard and Dorothy Elmhirst’s great arts and education experiment.

She went to school on the estate and later became Dorothy Elmhirst’s personal secretary, where she remained until Dorothy’s death in 1968.

And her lifetime on the estate includes memories of the growth of the famous Dartington School – and the tragedies that included the mystery death of young heiress Cathy Pelly and the scandals of a headmaster and his wife who had posed for soft porn pictures in magazines and probably ended up being paid off to leave.

Now she has produced a book about her life and times on the estate, including her memories of many of the notable people who were connected with Dartington through the early days.

The 84-year-old, who lives in Week, spent a year putting together the 96-page work, called A Life at Dartington, after being encouraged by friends to put her memories of the estate down in print.

Those memories start with her 23-year-old father John Wales’ arrival on the estate in 1927, just after it had been bought by the Elmhirsts. He became librarian and then a teacher at the estate’s new progressive and co-educational school.

And it travels through her childhood where she herself was taught on the estate as part of the Elmhirsts’ educational experiment, through the war years when the estate was invaded by US troops waiting for D-Day, and her work as personal secretary, first to Dorothy Elmirst and then to the Elmhirsts’ son-in-law, Maurice Ash.

Mary includes a memoire by her mother Peggy who tells how the US troops eventually left the estate – leaving behind a treasure trove of unwanted, and potentially dangerous, equipment.

‘Foxhole was handy for this and reaped a fantastic harvest – food tins, camping equipment, tools, cooking utensils and even such things as rubber dinghies and lifebuoys,’ she wrote.‘Bill Bethel, aged fourteen and old enough to know better, collected some cast-off ammunition, and to see if it was live, hit it hard with a hammer. It was and it blew a hole through his hand.’

Her book touches on the mystery death of 17-year-old Dartington student and shoe heiress Cathy Pelly who was found dead in the River Dart where she had been swimming naked – and the concerns that school would be sued for negligence by her family.

The inquest ended up recording an open verdict with the possibility that a mark found on the dead girl’s neck could have been inflicted in a swan attack.

Mary writes:‘She was reported as a strong swimmer but perhaps she had been taken unawares. The answer will never be known for certain.’

In a second tragedy, Mary recalls, during the same summer as the inquest, a student at the school died after riding a motorcycle around the Dartington estate courtyard which he crashed through a glass door.

Another scandal at the estate was the appointment of Lyn Blackshaw as head of the school which turned out to be an ‘absolute disaster’ after it was discovered that Blackshaw and his wife had ‘previously posed for soft porn magazines’.

Mary said:‘The trustees had great difficulty to get the Blackshaws to leave and I believe finally they had to be bought out with quite a sizable amount.’

This may sound strange, coming from someone who was extremely modest as a boy (single child, mother divorced when I was still a baby). I honestly think that providing the opportunity for folks, especially children and teens, to overcome their bashfulness is an empowering experience, and not some kind of violation of their private space or innocence. When someone is so preoccupied with hiding their shameful nakedness, they don't realize that they've really lost a degree of ownership over their own bodies.

Since becoming an adult, i've visited nude beaches, and even lived in a clothing optional co-op. I'm pleased to say that yes, all of your fears are true. Someone will be introduced to you, and you'll shake his hand and automatically LOOK AT HIS PENIS!!! omg!

...and noone will say a word about it. And you'll be over it in 5 minutes; 15 mins tops. At the end of the day, you'll regret having to put your clothes on again, and return to the world of the covered skins. It really makes no sense to wear clothes indoors, or when going swimming.

Noone showed any signs of inappropriate arousal, and generally, I felt a lasting sense of brotherhood with the guys and gals who i'd lived with. I think part of it had to do with who I was with, though. Sometimes there would be visitors in the house, and I would feel the grip of modesty return. I'd run to the bedroom to grab a pair of shorts, and this was for my own sake.

I guess that in conclusion, I think it is my culture which robbed me of my privacy and innocence, by making me feel like my body was bad, and that I had to remain vigilant to protect some intangible status. It's more like a game in our society today. If someone simply caught sight of my weener, they could claim they were harmed in some great way, and demand some pretty draconian punishment. I'd become a card-carrying, dues-paying, travel-restricted societal outcast overnight. There needs be no proof of harm, and there are no unbiased studies to influence judgement.

Another point worth making is that I think a lot of "sexual" experiences are transformed into traumas by our parent's and peer's reactions than any genuine harm of violation. For example: if a child sees how freaked out her parents are, and keeps being reminded of an incident that really hadn't phased her at the time, then you'll make her neurotic and traumatized.

oys were required to swim nude at my prep school in NZ in the early 70’s. Sadly they’ve abandoned the practice now.‘Out of step with the times’ I suppose, but it was a lot of fun and turned me into a life long nudist.

The kids all showered together so swimming nude was not of any great import. Some of the teachers obviously enjoyed supervising and the kids sniggered if they noticed a trouser tent. Also, parents visited for swimming sports and snapped away happily with their cameras, making child pornography without even realising it!

Former daytime TV star Fred Talbot is being sentenced today after being found guilty of molesting boys while working as a school teacher.

The Granada weather forecaster, 65, taught at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys before his media career took off.

He denied ten indecent assaults against five boys - four of whom were former AGSB pupils - in offences spanning from 1969 to 1984 in a Minshull Street Crown Court trial.

He was found guilty of two charges against former pupils and not guilty on eight counts.

The trial of the one-time ‘This Morning’ forecaster had heard allegations that he coaxed schoolboys into stripping naked for a ‘secret orgy’ on trips, molested pupils as young as 14, and seduced sixth-formers he was supposed to be looking after.
