I just have a few questions.
What does a bus monitor get paid for?
If these kids were doing the same thing to one of the kids what would this woman have done?
What if someone brought a knife or a gun on the bus what would she have done? If there was a bad accident would she ba able to help anyone? What the kids did was terrible but really all this money for someone who was completely out of control ? What does this say to kids who get bullied ? Is sitting and crying the answer? Who comes up with multi thousands of money for them?
What would have happened if this woman asked for the kids to do some volunteer work at a nursing home or Habitat For Humanity in stead of a forced
"sorry"? How many of these kids felt under pressure to join in on the "fun" or suffer being bullied themselves? I have to ask "Who was the adult and who were the children on that bus ?
Lastly I have to wonder about the death threats to the families. Really ??? You hate the bullies so you act like bullies and that helps somehow???
I only wish that some of the money would go to someone who would set up a foundation that makes bullies work for nothing doing some good for others and maybe learn something besides hate.
Of course this is only one persons thoughts.

An article in the National Post described what this woman suffered as 'taunting', not 'bullying', and asked, if she was the bus monitor, why didn't she do her job and put the first miscreant back into his seat at the first sign of trouble? Did she have a cell phone? She could have called the school principal and asked for direction, or if she felt in danger, she could have called the police.
The students who taunted her were not bullies, they were juvenile jackasses, testing authority as juvenile jackasses tend to do.
Now, she gets buckets of money because she didn't do her job? Maybe she's the one who should have been suspended.

You put it so much better than I could.
I also wonder why the school would hire these people to sit on the bus with no communication device between them and the bus driver.
If they are helpless under law to do anything to control the students then why are they there?
Do people in the town where she worked know that their tax dollars are paying for her sit there?
