What I propose we do to increase the quality of education in this country while easing the burden on tax payers who tired of throwing money at our school system with little or no return on their investment in our childrens' future is this. Allocate a portion of the revenue thats set aside for education and use it to start a series of national ad campaigns aimed at inner-city minorities that compels them to start a grass roots movement to improve their environment by advocating such things as cooperating with law enforcement in the report and prevention of crime. Challenge them to take the initiative to report violence and to the proper authorities when they themselves or others are victims of asault. Explain to them how much safer their respective neighborhoods would be if witnesses would cooperate with detectives when investigating such crimes as homocides,burglaries, and home invasions. Compel them to start local crime watch groups who will band together courageously to discourage, and report drug activity in their neighborhood. Remind them to be examples and role models to their youth teaching them right from wrong, doing their best to refrain from behavior or speach habits that fit the undesireable stereotypes associated with their respective race in order to provide a more desireable entrance into mainstream society and a wider range of employment opportunities that might otherwise be denied them for their less than desired etiquette and/or speach mannerisms. This would be money well spent to get right at the heart of the issues that are causing our current education woes. The first and most important barrier that must be broken in order to obtain any resemblance of order in the 'hood' is this "Don't talk to police" rule. Once this mote is crossed then the drawbridge of crime watch can be established which can then lead to eliminating the crime element or 'bad seeds' that are being sown into the minds of the youth. When little Johnny sees that the once prospering crack dealing,$,4,000 paint job on their '06 Crown Vic, flashy dressed thugs are being arrested and convicted through a concerted effort brought forth from a group of concerned members of the community they will in turn be more inclined to think about their education. And when parents see the change in the community and realize the opportunities that now avail they will in turn (inspired by said PA's) be more apt to examine their own behavior and gleen from the content of these ad's that their children need not be prohibitted from what before would be viewed as lofty goals and therefore teach their offspring to conduct themselves in a manner more acceptable to the mainstream of society.

Though only about 13% of the U.S. population, Blacks commit more than half of all rapes and robberies and 60% of all murders in the U.S.
Blacks adopted into middle-class White families had IQs averaging 89.4, just slightly above the average of 88 for Blacks of the North Central U.S. region from which they originated. This was 9 IQ points below the average of the adopted Black/White
hybrids (98.5) in the same families, 16 points below the adopted Whites (105.6), and 20 points below the White biological offspring (109.4).
Black males are twice as likely than white males to have MAOA-L which has been linked to crime, violence and aggression in scores of studies. Black males are also 13.5 times more likely to have a rare version of the gene associated with extreme violence and extreme aggression.
Welfare by race 38% white / 37% black. But, blacks make up only about 13% of the U.S. population. While there are more whites on welfare than blacks,
the percentage of the black population on welfare is greater than the percentage of the white population on welfare.
One in three food stamp households is headed by an African American. More than a third of food stamp benefits are issued to African-Americans.(According to Census data, African Americans make up about 13 percent of the U.S. population.)
Asians score higher on tests of mental ability than do Whites, both within the U.S.A. and in Asia, whereas Africans and Caribbeans score lower. Asians populations in East Asia and North America typically have mean IQs falling between 101 to 111. White populations in Europe, South Africa, Australasia, and North America have mean IQs of from 85 to 115, with an overall mean of 100. Black populations living south of the Sahara, in the Caribbean, in Britain,and in North America, average IQs of from 70 to 90.
Speed of decision making (reaction time) in 9 to 12-year olds, in which children decide which of several lights stands out from others,shows that the racial differences in mental ability are not restricted to paper and pencil tests. All children can perform the task in less than one second, but more intelligent children, as measured by traditional IQ tests, perform the task faster than less intelligent children. Asian children from Hong Kong and Japan were faster on average in decision time (controlling for movement time) than were White children from Britain and Ireland, who in turn were faster than Black children from South Africa. Using the same decision time tasks, the same racial ordering in California school children.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), has confirmed the White/Black difference. The preponderance of evidence from studies using different techniques, conducted by different researchers, on different samples, confirms the conclusion that the brains of Asians and their descendants average about 17 cm3 (1 in3) larger than those of Europeans and their descendants whose brains average about 80 cm3 (5 in3) larger than those of Africans and their descendants.
Black\White IQ differences have been demonstrated repeatedly by every test ever conducted by every branch of the U.S. Military, every state,county, and local school board, the U.S. Dept. of Education, etc.
With an average I.Q. of 85, only 16% of Blacks score over 100, while half the White population does. The Negro overlap of White median I.Q.'s ranges from 10 to 25 percent, equality would require 50 percent.
The U.S. government's PACE examination, given to 100,000 university graduates who are prospective professional or administrative civil-service
employees each year, is passed with a score of 70 or above by 58% of the whites who take it but by only 12% of the Blacks. Among top scorers
the difference between Negro and White performance is even more striking: 16% of the white applicants make scores of 90 or above, while only
one-fifth of one percent of a Black applicants score as high as 90--a White/Black success ration of 80/1.

Interesting discussion here. I'm a bit uncomfortable with the implications that there is something inherent in any one race or another, although it does make sense that AS A GROUP, some races might statistically be more gifted in one area or another.
Here's the thing though: what is the biggest difference between the black/latino group and the white/Asian group? there are certainly many stupid whites out there and I know of a number of accomplished intelligent blacks. I think a lot of it has to do with societal expectations. You tell people that they are victims, they have been wronged, they are owed and they almost always rise to the occasion. It's human nature. It holds true in micro environments like individual families and in macro ones like entire social groups. This is how liberals have ruined our country is by trying to "make it up" to people that they have wronged. And human nature being what it is, of course they run with it. Black people did not behave badly en masse until the civil rights movement. Why is that? Because of the victim mentality, that's why. It may sound callous, but once we realized we had treated blacks unfairly, we needed to move on and truly be color blind instead of white liberals turning themselves into pretzels and practicing reverse discrimination.

This is very true. I like what you said and often thought the same thing. So true. But it's too late to go back and try that approach which is why I proposed the grassroots ad campaign idea listed above in my post.

Yes, I was recently unfriended by someone on facebook for saying it is wrong to try and right discrimination by simply switching sides.
If people don't think reverse discrimination and dumbing things down to the lowest possible denominator is not breeding resentment and lowering our standards at the same time, they must have their heads up their backside. I also noticed that when I challenged Miss facebook victim to deal with her convictions about more opportunities for minority youth by going to the inner city herself to teach that she fell strangely silent. That's a liberal for you: as long as it doesn't personally cost THEM anything, they are all too happy to shame the rest of us into doing what they've sat back and decided is the solution to every social ill.
When I told chickie-poo that some of these problems really HAVE no easy answer, I was also chided for being callous and bitter.
Being as liberals love to gloat about the hypocrisy of every conservative failure to live up to what they preach, I was sorely tempted to point out that in her idolatry of MLK she was also putting on a pedestal a serial adulterer among other things. No doubt I would be branded a racist for pointing out that little fact, so I bit my tongue (Keyboard???)

Here's another thing: I have often wondered how in just a couple of generations, blacks went from people willing to risk their lives to learn to read to what we have now.
I think treating them as victims and giving them a blank card for human nature to take over is at the root of this. It's certainly nothing inbred because if it were, you would not, as I had said, have had black people going to unbelievably sacrificial lengths to further their education on the sneak in days past.

Liz, in a post you state that black misbehavior started after Civil Rights. Actually, post Civil Rights is when it began affecting whites en masse - thanks to integration. Immediately after the emancipation and the subsequent black northern migration, black misbehavior began (the reason the KKK was formed in the South).

African american crime is so much a problem in the metropolitan areas that it can be described as nothing less than an epidemic. And the crime statistics reported on websites like http://www.city-data.com/ (though in the 'hood' very little of the brutal assaults,and robberies are ever reported to police)show this. I believe that the whole 'gangsta rap' movement has effectively perpetuated this national travesty.

I am a liberal and I have some serious problems with how students are behaving in my high school. Not all liberals think it's ok. I am fed up with ghetto kids ruining the school. First of all, in the last few years, almost all the middle class white kids left the school. Now we are left with all the Blacks, Mexicans, and mixed kids. Their rowdiness is appalling and sickening. They show no interest in learning any academics. We went from a nice, balanced out school, to a full blown ghetto school. I spend more time getting the kids to behave than teaching, which I used to take pride in. I say that if they aren't going to use their opportunity to learn, we should just shut it all down. They don't deserve a school!! Much less, well-paid, qualified teachers. It really is a waste of tax payers money. I believe that there is no way that they are going to pass their state mandated exams, and our school will just continue to fail. There used to be only two special Ed teachers in our school, now there are 28!!! We have about 1500 do nothing's in our school. I hope someday, I can find a school where teaching will bring me joy again. Otherwise I will have to find a new profession where I can actually use my intelligence and feel fulfillment. The best thing that could happen is to shut these ghetto factories down. Now our district is using reverse discrimination on us, giving us reading material about white teachers teaching black students and we don't understand their learning styles because we are white!!! That effen ticks me off royally!!

I had a feeling Gracie that the teachers were struggling with classes filled with students who not only had little or no desire to learn,but in addition spend most of their time demonstarting distracting behavior. I can sympathize with you. Teaching must have been a reaal passion for you to have studied in college to earn a degree and knowing that teaching doesn't always pay well. Now that passion has died because of this ghetto lifestyle that prevails in our cities and is even creeping into many towns and is propogated by the rap music that has of late unfortunately become mainstream.This lifestyle is deteriorating our youth and ruining our classrooms, our cities and our nation. I am very sorry to hear your heartbreaking story Gracie. I wish you the best.

Your argument is idiotically incompetent and assigns blame to the teachers. Suppose you have an Asian kid in a classroom filled with Black kids. They all have the same teacher at this same school, yet the Asian kid far outperforms every Black in the class. Your argument is lidicrous in logic. As a teacher myself I have recognized that the Whites always outperform the Blacks academically. The Asians tend to do slightly better on average than the Whites while the hispanics usually have a broad spectrum of overall performance, but still outperform the Blacks on average. How can you blame a teacher being bad when their students of various ethnicities all perform differently? You haven't an argument and you have failed. In spite of this difference in aptitude amongst the races, Blacks are far more disruptive, malevolent and unruly in nature. I would estimate that 4 out of 5 Blacks pose a threat to the entire class in a multi-racial environment. It isn't so bad when there are only 1 or 2 Blacks depending on their mental state, but if you have more than 5 Blacks in a classroom of 25 or 30 kids the group dynamic shifts dramatically. I see it everyday.

Liz, I can easily destroy your assertion that the reasons for Blacks being misfits and ill-suited to perform at certain levels is due to socio-economic pressures. That is a fallacy based in all nurture and no-nature. You see, Washington DC schools that are nearly 90% Black consistently show the lowest academic scores on tests, yet the government spends more money per student in DC than any other city including Detroit and Chicago. There are poor White schools that barely have one tenth the resources of the aforementioned Black schools, yet they consistently outperform the Black schools on all subjects and cognitive skillsets. This is a FACT.
Sub-Saharan African IQs average 69 while the Afrcan American IQ averages 85. The reason for this differential is most likely a combination of 'rote' learning and the admixture of Caucasian DNA in the African Americans.

Your figures on the IQ's of races are slightly off, but you are pretty close. Also, while you mention Asians having the highest IQ's you have made a gross generalization that needs further analysis. People of Japanese, Chinese and Korean heritage average a 106 IQ. The lower caste Southeast Asians (Cambodians, Vietnamese, Filippinos, Laotians, et al. average around 90.European caucasiansvary in that Germans, Italians and Polish average a 102 IQ. Spain and Portugal average 92.People of Amerindian descent average about 89 overall. The admixtue of European DNA in Latin America varies which thus varies the IQ.
White europeans have a slightly lower IQ than North Asians, because Whites have a higher deviation rate (more Downs-Syndrome cases, Mental retardation, etc.) But Whites have more geniuses per capita than do North Asians. If you took the top 10% of White intellectuals next to the top 10% of Asian intellectuals, the Whites would score considerably higher.

You could have said that at the top and avoided all the statistics. Anyone who reads through this knows early on where you are going: you take cold numbers, neglect the elements of educational opportunity, the impact of basing the funding of public schools largely upon local property taxes the dramatic disparity in availability of competent defense counsel to Caucasians and African Americans, the discrimination exercised by the courts in many states when it comes to sentencing, the and the caprice of the jury system, along with other factors, and use them as justification for bigotry. Next time, just ignore the statistics and post your racist hatred--and be honest when you do: use the word "hate" because that's what it is, that's what you're about--because, after all, you ignore everything else, notably what is behind those numbers. So why bother?
