Turning around a poor school starts with having a modest gender nuetral PE kit with no showers!
Cover up those kneecaps and wear the Hijab and you'll have the full support of Fine Frazzle.
Happy July 4th Mollyman it looks like you failed to turn Afghanistan into a nudist camp!
We are in the midst of very exciting and challenging times in the run up to the opening of the new build. As well as watching the building get nearer to completion and getting excited about making plans for moving in, we have to make sure that we deliver in terms of the best possible examination results for the current Year 11 students. We have to keep both of those plates spinning and staff and students have been working really hard to make sure that the 2012 results are even better than last year and are once again our best ever.
Over the past year and a half, a lot of work has gone into promoting Blackburn Central High School with Crosshill and developing a brand for the school. One of the most public manifestations of that brand is the school uniform, which was unveiled at a Fashion Show this March.
Students Farhan and Kyle were the hosts for the evening and talked about the hard work that went into producing the new BCHS with Crosshill uniform, including consultation with students from Beardwood, Blakewater and Crosshill; staff from Blakewater and Crosshill; with parents and governors.
lot of hard work has gone into developing the new uniform. Weve worked with the retailers, we also talked to the manufacturers, we thought about selling it ourselves and also considered other options. In the end, for a variety of reasons, we have decided to ask Whittakers to be our uniform suppliers and are confident that they will provide you and us with a first class service. I would like to emphasise that the uniform is competitively priced when compared to other local schools it comes in at £1 less than the same items for Our Lady and St Johns.
We want our uniform to be consistent. We talked to senior staff in other schools and they reinforced that consistency is the key to uniform looking as smart as possible. We have therefore decided that all of the uniform, with the exception of the white shirt, will have the BCHS with Crosshill logo on them and will only be available from Whittakers. The uniform wont be available from Whittakers until August and we are well aware of the potential cost to families, particularly those who will have more than one child at BCHS.
We have worked hard to balance cost and quality of the new uniform, and think we have done a good job. We are, however, looking into ways of bringing the cost of the uniform to you down even further and hope to provide you with further information on this in the summer term. There will be a price list available on the Blakewater College website.
