La. children deserve higher stands for education
As an educator involved in the development of the Common Core-aligned Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers Assessments, I very disappointed with Gov. Jindal's executive order to withdraw from the standards and tests.

"Corporal punishment in schools is legal in most of the other Southern states as wellincluding Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arizona, and Texasbut it's also legal in Missouri, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Wyoming."
