Glenn Becka s theatrical attack on Common Core

Jul 23, 2014 Full story: The Washington Post 38

Conservative media star Glenn Beck led a national strategy session to kill the Common Core State Standards late Tuesday night, using a two-hour simulcast into movie theaters across the country as a way to embolden critics of the standards and recruit more foot soldiers to the cause.

While I'm certainly no fan of Common Core (basically Bill Gates' corporate approach to "learning"), Glenn Beck is mentally ill. I'm sure he's portraying the Core as Satan's attempt to take over our childrens' minds, or something equally insane.

America....love it or be a Rightie.

As an educator I can tell you that this will be changed in five or so years. All this uproar is amusing and reminds me of when no child left behind was started by Bush. Wether we use the standard course of study, or common core, teachers will have to adjust, and somebody will make tons of $$ printing guides, tests, an all the other material that accompanies a curriculum change. Republicans need to get over it, this is their free market at work! Glen beck is taking their naiveté all the way to the bank!!!

Common Core is an indoctrination process that takes the drive to be your best out of school, as well as civics and the constitution. Communism used the same process.

Common Core is a guideline like the Standard Course of Study. Social Studies is still taught under the state standards. When George Bush initiated NCLB they stopped testing for Social Studies. American History (the Constitution) is taught in seventh grade and in American History in high school. The difference that I have seen between the standards and the Common Core is that Common Core requires more depth of understanding than do the standards. The standards were wider and shallower, while the Common Core is less wide in breadth and deeper. All education is indoctrination isn't it?

If it requires more depth, why doesn't it push calculus. It does not offer it. How are we going to exceed in a world where we don't compete with other countries.

Common Core can actually prepare students for AP Calculus. Calculus is not in the standards either. It is an AP course. You are not involved in education; are you?

The Department of Education as a Federal Agency is inefficient and inclined to impose Marxist principles throughout the American schools. Whether Common Core, or earlier abominations of invasive manipulation of local schools (by using the greed of school boards), these are only symptoms of a much larger assault on new generations. The examples and arguments are undeniable as to the Marxist influence and brainwashing techniques implemented.

America will be systematically destroyed if we do not expunge this threat from among us. The US Department of Education is a waste and an invasive meddling by politically motivated Marxists to foul our children. Reading the Title Five guidelines forced on the schools would convince anyone with an open mind of the threat. We must eradicate the US Department of Education.

Centralized education is mediocre education. The constant degradation of educational outcomes in America over the last several decades is directly linked to Marxist educators implementing centralized concepts. Excellence in America has always been linked to the wide and varied input of many ideas and personalities in our schools. Standardizing and intimidating people... in some instances actually directing the isolation and shunning of anyone not fully embracing the indoctrination and group-think... sometimes using cafeteria personnel to follow rigid Dept. of Education indoctrination programs implementing group psychology to intimidate anyone thinking outside the group-think imposed in Dept. guidelines... standardization is killing your own children, making them mediocre consumers and nothing more.

Actually education, to be effective (I know you don't know what I'm talking about) must be standardized to some degree. Haphazard education leads to ignorant people like you.

You wouldn't know a Marxist from the hole in your arse, loser. Why? Because you're not educated. You've learned from the radical Right, squawk radio, and Faux News. Which means you've learned NOTHING.

Here's hoping you don't even have children. The nation doesn't need ignorant spawn of ignoramuses.

Proving you know nothing about calculus, Common Core, or much of anything else. Don't pretend you ever graduated High School, much less college, yokel.

Beck is only a little crazy.
Rush Limbaugh has taken the "reigns" by just forgoing education all together. He and his time traveling horse, "Liberty", are here to give our children an accurate depiction of how great America was even before it was America.
Common Core standards have no place in schools. Rush has taken the lead and his books will make sure all kids know the truth...straight from a horse's time traveling mouth!!!!!

None of you have read the Title Five guidelines, or witnessed them implemented in the classrooms. I have.

Cafeteria workers with no education credentials have been used to implement group psychology sessions on children, leading them to abuse those children not succumbing to the Soviet type indoctrination routines designed NOT for education, but for political orientations. Falsely claiming the workers/teachers implementing these brainwashing routines have a "choice" of processes, the Dept. of Education printouts guiding the psychologically untrained indoctrinators give them two "choices", which actually do the same precise thing... use group therapy type sessions to politically indoctrinate children in primary through high schools. For instance, a child not accepting of a certain type perception of social behavior discussed is focused upon and the group, using the Federal guidelines, is used to bully that child into agreeing with the guidelines set in Washington.

That has nothing to do with education, nor necessary standardization of certain subjects. The described and worse has been implemented without parental input, without actual reading of the material by the school boards, but only through bribing them with Federal funds. The psychologists in the schools know of the true natures, but because their orientation is the new religion in America (telling everyone what is right and wrong), they have been brainwashed themselves into accepting the tyranny and outrageous assaults on normal childhood development all of it actually means.

You can do the usual personal attacks and accusations, fine. But at least have the honesty to look into the actual processes and Federal guidelines.

If it is not mandatory, it is not part of the studies, but getting close to an answer even if it's wrong is.

What discipline and what standard number (specifically) is this contained in? As an Educator I have not read this yet. Our state is adopting Common Core, however we reintegrating it currently with the Standard Course of Study. We see the cafeteria workers for a brief time each day, then we go back to the classroom. There is an anti bullying campaign. You need to focus your energy on the testing. "Teaching to the test" has restrained educators more that Common Core, Standard Course of Study, or guideline we must follow. You do not seem to understand what Common Core even is.
