Horton was a planned coup d'etat from the board..(in my opinion) Hearing rumblings about being the only entity in the indusrty to lose money they made a move. Ex AA'er horton was fresh off destroying AT&T. Came beck to AMR and 2 months later Arpey is ousted, Horton is in charge and AMR is Chapter 11.... Following Mitt Romneys book (not a political jab. a fact...look at the track record of the consulting firm he ran) thousands unemployed, company making money, Horton wealthy... He is the new Frank Lorenzo
