The lead the airline out of BK bonus.... The guide the airline thru merger bonus.... The stay on as a consultant bonus... I think Horton wants to stay on and run AA as a stand alone carrier, and deal with the stress... trivia question. Who left AMR to be CFO of AT&T. Who became CEO of AT&T, restructured it and sold it to SBC. Who came back to AMR as CFO then took over as CEO.. Who is restructuring AMR... Can you guess his next move?

Horton should be fired for giving the Pilots the contract he just gave them. He should have gotten a way better deal. AA will be back in bankruptcy within 10 years because their employee costs are still way too high!

Flyer, you are ignorant. Southwest and Delta still pay their pilots way more that the TA rates APA agreed to.

HORTON should never have been made CEO. That is why American has failed in everything it does now because these clowns running the company are all Americanized because of all the years they have worked their and their brains do not work anymore.
The powers that be at AAL need to hire a CEO/President from a sucessful airline outside the company where they know what leadership and character is !

But, AA is not Delta or Southwest. Both of those companies have more flexible work rules, which actually result in a lower cost per miles flown than AA. AA Pilots still cost more even after the bankruptcy changes than any other airline, thus AA will be back in bankruptcy in 10 years or less.
Facts are facts!

AA has a very good chance of surviving. If the people in offices on Amon Carter Blvd and on the BOD are no longer there after the BK is discharged

Horton's an idiot..... He has no clue about running an airline nor should he even be here. IF you get rid of the BOD and bring in a leader like Crandall with ideas and love of the industry you can conquer and return AA to an industry Leader...
Problem is this isn't going to happen which still paints a grim picture of AA's future.

Unhappy pilots??? How about the AMT's and ramp guys that just took a major beating? Do you think you have "Happy Workers" here? Unhappy mechanics equal EASTERN.....

2 work groups you need happy to run an airline, Pilots and Mechanics.... Last time I checked BOTH. groups at Southwest were very happy and compensated far beyond what AMR pAAys..... It's funny how a pilot and AMT @ LUV make 6 figures and the company still makes quarterly profit after quarterly profit... Even the ramp guys make 6 figures at SWA....( Yes, they work hard and long hours but they are rewarded ).***Rewards are something you'll never see at AMR....

I don't know who will lead the new company if a merger occurs... but if I had to bet; I would choose TEAM PARKER and Co.

As an investor I would feel more comfortable knowing that your not selecting legacy AA management to run a NEW AMR. also Team Parker airline has be making $$$ regularly. I don't know how current AMR employee's feels but from what I have been reading they clearly want change at the top...

No question. That's why all the unions are on board. Is Parker and team better, no, but they aren't the current AA team. AA is the bigger entity. If you make the larger group happy it will make for an easier transition. Seeing the current AA BOD and executive team leave will thrill almost everyone at AA. Make no mistake Parker and crew are still managers and will step on toes, but AAers have had thier feet stomped on since the broken promises of a decade ago

To say Parker and Team isn't better; one doesn't know but investors can only go by the facts... his team has made $$$ with a much smaller network pretty consistently - and the bottom line that all investors care about is ROI = Return On Investment. We all know the main reason why Tom Horton wishes to exit BK first before looking at merger... he and his team have $60 million reasons to want that. that to me is telling me he doesn't care about the whole entity of AA and only cares about his Executive Teams Golden Parachute bonus. I'm sure they're a lot of people who would enjoy having a job that compensates you for doing a good and horrible job. Remember this is same man who went to the well twice and asked his AMR workers to take pay cuts only to REWARD bonus $$$ to his Executive staff and self...

Very funny flyer! Uh ...pilot shortage! The pilots should have asked for more, they deserve it!

Asian carriers are offering twice as much because of pilot shortages. Just wait...it's coming

you, I am guessing, are in your little sheltered world in the U.S. How pathetic.

Outside of the U.S, the world is experiencing massive growth.

Yes, the Chinese don't live in grass huts anymore!

There are many more millionaires overseas than in the US.

The pilots will have our day, just as Mgt abused us back when we had to fly for free (basically) when you are working at the commuters. What comes around goes around.

You too will have to experience "paying your dues" as it seems you only want to profit. Profiteers have no soul. Only your glorify and worship your bank account. You have no Mercy for anyone that has struggled. You frickin' fool, don't you think that those few jobs as Captain at the top of the airline seniority list are payback for all the years of paying dues? Not Doctors or Lawyers have to do training or medical checks and are under a microscope constantly. We have many many people lives in our hands. WE are underpaid, you idiot.

Profiteers have their day and pay the piper too, whether here on Earth or later after you leave it.

Bless you you ignorant fool.
