Apparently the pilots still admire Cradall's wisdom even though they couldn't stand his management style years ago. What goes around comes around!

Watch and listen carefully to the Chairman's comments. This is the final opportunity to ensure longenvity of the Eagle:

As predicted, AA brain dead Pilots and old USAir idiots can't agree. How could this be so easily predicted?

The United/Continental union-related merger issues were costly and time-consuming that added months and months to the merger process. These were both ALPA groups and relatively similar-sized workforces.

An AA/US union integration process will be far messier. Three different union groups within just the pilot ranks, huge difference in workforce size and they'll more than likely have to negotiate a contract very similar to DL and UA. An MOU should be mandatory for any pre-merger

Time to get out the popcorn.

Actually an accord has been raeched.. A day after this article appeared...
The following hotline was issued today by APA: "This morning the APA Board of Directors voted 11-5 to approve a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for consideration by AMR and US Airways managements and the US Airline Pilots Association representing US Airways’ pilots. If these other parties agree to the terms of the MOU that APA has approved, the MOU would serve as a framework for an agreement if American Airlines and US Airways proceed to merge. If there is no merger between the two carriers, the MOU would be rendered null and void."

If history is any indication, achieving this MOU is a crucial step towards a merger
