I hate to tell you people this but all this was going to happen even if obama was not elected most of this crap was set in motion 20yrs ago it just took time for us to start fealing the efects.
Do none of you remember all the bailouts for banks and car companys while bush was still in office and how jobs started was geting harder and harder to find right after his second term started?
Please explain how obama is responsible for this when he had not even become president yet?
Don't get me wrong he has not helped the problem that much but he did not create this economy either.

Religion is what is destorying this country and the world dummys runing around judging everyone because of their beliefs and wadging war in the name of god.

what dose religion have to do with coal mineing or any job this might have happened who knows but our president made things worser there is millions of tons of unmined coal just sitting in Harlan co that could be mined very few men here have a job now their unemployment has run out nobody can pay their bills their rent or even buy food kids are doing without its a shame our president lets this go on if it came a big earthquake over seas he would no doubt send millions of dollars and millions of pounds of food to them but people in the usa are starveing and doing without and they get no help from him at all unemployment has even been cut he could care less about the American people

Did you know that obamas opponent in the election had shut down more coal mines than clinton and bush combined.
Obama tried to get the coal Ind. A contract with india but big coal owners was to good to lower their prices to get the contract so they went else were!
Why wouldn't we start useing natural gas with coal over 200 a ton it only makes sence just like the oil companys charging a stupid high price so they can have 300% profit a year while the rest of us make them rich.
Don't Blame nobody but the owners of the big coal companys they put them selfs out.
Why do you think the new power plant up in st. Paul took a contract to get coal from west Va. And not local ?
Coal in the U.S is doing fine everywere but this region tons of coal jobs down south and in the Dakotas.

About the religion thing we are spending to much money in outher countrys that start wars in the name of god.
That's money we could use and obama didn't start tha either.

We have had warm winters, which everyone loved, and that causes the demand for coal to drop.

When the leader of your country says " No more coal fired power plants and if you try to build one it will break you". Dosnt sound like he's trying to help the coal biz. If you can't burn coal your not gonna buy it. Coal is still the most economical energy source there is, but has been regulated to the point where it's no longer a viable source. Ease restrictions and watch the economy of this area take off

Totally disagree, fact is our coal here burns cleaner and hotter than the western coal but it's more expensive to mine and now with the regulations on scrubbers in power plants it's cheaper to use western coal cause u hve to clean it all the same way

I'll agree with you on that coal owners will have to come off of their price if they are goin to compete with western coal. But our coal being cleaner is the reason we hve had the glory years that we have had but now, in the power plants mind, why wud you pay more for our coal when your gonna have to clean it the same as the MUCH cheaper to mine western coal.
