this person is not a hostess worker!he has'nt got the facts on this companies corporate greed and non-management,and he does'nt know the ugly side of the operating practices this company implemented on a daily baises.dude what co. are u talken about?
There's really no excuse for 18,500 lost jobs... You sure showed them?...Just suppose they'd go oput of Biz anyway, well so what why end it now?. They knew if they didn't take the deal it was goodbye? Do people really think someone ewill swoop in and magically startup eveverything and call people back to work? The Auto workers did.. Should have taken a lesson from them. O.k, another excuse. Poor management?, large pay increases for the Exec's?.. Still no excuse to forego the deal and let 18,500 workers walk.

Big tough union talk is so cheap anymore. Your big mouths got you into this mess so suck in your pride, go to the welfare office and get your food stamps that the rest of us pay taxes for.
The entitlement union parasites that ended a company that will now band together to take down a country with their entitlement demands.

This company was losing $12 million per qtr. in 2004. Hostess employees gave back somewhere around $15 million per qtr in less wages and health pmts. When Hostess emerged from BK in 2009 they said the company would come out in great shape. Two years later Hostess says they are losing $350 million per year and have to file for BK because they are $800 million in debt. The investors have loaned Hostess this money to operate. The investors OWN Hostess. That's the same thing as loaning yourself $100 and then turn around and say that you are now $100 in debt. It's all WallStreet BS. All these so-called investors have used Hostess as their own ATM. The government should look into this. It is a scam. Plain and Simple.
Do you have a handle on numbers that are involved with Hostess? Just broad brush strokes as I would love to look at this more closely. Thanks

Retired Bread Driver..

Think you got your facts wrong. CBC was bought by IBC in 1995 for $330 plus 16.9 million shares of IBC stock. CBC was the largest commercial baker in the world with roughly $2.5 Billion in annual sales. IBC then bought SF sourdough, JJ Nissen, Drakes and My Bread. All companies on their way to solvency themselves with deteriorating market share. Shortly after IBC purchased CBC, IBC management began acquiescing to Teamster and BC&T contract demands and allowed the unions to dictate pay and benefit packages that the company could never afford. In lieu of striking employee's, they accepted deals which ultimately led to the decline in profit. Competitors, eroding markets, and ingredient costs were all contributing factors along with labor costs. Ultimately, it was IBC management and their short term vision that led the company to this place today. IBC management along with the union leaders led an uneducated workforce into oblivion. It's a shame that 18,000 workers allowed themselves to be led by such deficient company management and union leaders for almost 20 years.

Neither did any of those other board members, just us slaves!glad were free, hasnt been easy, but see now how the company played us really bad.Did you see all the money they payed all their so called advisors, that money was our pension money.rayburn done to hostess what he was payed to do ,look at his work history.dont see how he sleeps at night,he will get his in next life, his money cant by him a ticket to heaven.I hate it i spent 20 years with this company only to end up with no pension, union should be able to make them put that money back when they sell.Ranburn said he didnt take pay cut cause he didnt work for hostess.IF it hadnt happened now it would have in another year, company didnt invest any money into up dating old bakerys, trucks, etc. that was the agreement when we took pay cut in first bankrucpy, they stole our pension money then want us to give more, glad i voted to end it. Good luck to you and god bless all xhostess employees!!!!

Crazy, I hope things are looking up for you. I have heard rumors of a class action lawsuit against them for raiding our pensions. As Always, any facts that I find will be posted on this site. Alot of Knoxville workers have moved to Nashville,Bimbos, I think, especially ones close to retirement. Because it is BCTGM and they can get their original retirement thru them.
