I hear you, but Valentines Day is a long standing tradition and does not have to be so complicated or expensive. Gifts or gestures that are truly thoughtful should work perfectly. No need to make a big deal of it. IMO, if a woman expects her man to provide something she knows is beyond his means, she's gotta GO!<quoted text>
Hi Libra :)
I prefer to give gifts myself. It isn't the giving part or the money part, it's the point that the holiday was made up by a card company and screwed men into spending money for something that should be shown all year long. Then of course the media hypes it up with all these stupid commercials about how the perfect gift is this or that. I always spend more than my girlfriend. Usually a lot more, but while I don't think SHE expects it from me, I know a lot of girls do expect it.
I was informed our night will consist of a nice cooked meal by her, a romantic drive, to the beach probably, and of course good nookie. I'll have to go spend a little money on some nice stuff, which is fine since I don't have to cook. That evens out, but it's still a scam of a holiday.
