I am an extranjero, resident of Ecuador. It would be responsible leadership if the government officials who insist on saying Correa was "kidnapped" and the protest was an "attempted coup" would stick to voicing the facts: the police in Ecuador were/are simply (albeit very vigorously) protesting the passing of a law that affects their pocketbooks. All this talk about conspiracies and other countrys being involved is nonsense and inflammatory to the situation.

You have been reading oligarchy lies. That law does not decrease their pay, it makes it more transparent. The oligarchy lied to the police because they wanted such a reaction.

Wait...changing the pension plan for police to include 50% in government bonds was not a rude shock to many police members and their families?
Does not Mr. Correa have responsibility for the economic downslide of his country?
