As a Catholic, I am not surprised at the churches positions. Unyielding positions at best.

I was taught that God is all loving and he loves each of us, whether we be black, white, yellow, or white. I was also taught that We are all made in Gods image. So be you straight, gay, bi. or lesbian, God loves you.

Gays and lesbians should not be treated as second class citizens. They love each other and only want the same rights as straight people.

Governments have no business with a womans right to birth or an abortion! It is fine for the church to say no abortions, but what about a woman who has been rapped, etc??

The church is only interested in birth to keep the money coming at the collections. We are over populating the planet. How many children does a society need to keep the human race going???

My uncle just called us from Quito. He says that the ANIMALS in Guayaquil have, at the imbecile President's goading, invaded the Catholic churches to desecrate and destroy and they have even gone as far as removing the Blessed Sacrament from the tabernacles, stomping it on the groupd and doing other things to It that I cannot even put into words. ANIMALS, ANIMALS, ANIMALS!

Would you prefer a church that changes its position on its teaching. Just what could you believe when the next day you would need to believe something else.

You are correct. God loves all sinners, he does not love the sin.

I believe that they are not treated as second class citizens. Homosexuals have the same rights. They are their own worst enemies by demanding rights that never existed. Why can't they just live peaceful lives as normal people do.

You state we are over populated. So do you encourage selective killing. First the unborn, next the unwanted, then the handicap, then the elderly, then the whites, etc. When do you stop? God said be fruitful and multiply, he did not say there are two many people, kill everyone but the Jews, my chosen people.

Gee, sounds nicer than bombing clinics and shooting doctors.

I dont' necessarily agree with desecrating churches, but on the other hand, the church should not be interfering with governmental policy. The RCC in particular seems to think that its opinion is the only one that should be heard; this is the result of the frustration of those who have to put up with the church's machinations over the government's policy.

Simply put, when you marginalize the actual citizens by advancing a church's agenda, there will be a backlash, and some of it will be violent.

1) Every church has changed its position on issues over the years. Slavery, for instance. Why do christers always presume that there haven't been misinterpretations and misguided policies along the way?

2) Homosexuality is not a sin, and neither is abortion. At the time the bible was written, both were accepted; only certain same-sex acts were condemned. It was not a blanket condemnation.

3) Gays have every intention of living "normal" lives. Marriage is a part of normal life for most people; why do you think gays don't want the same protections for their families that straights take for granted? As for "rights that never existed"--the fetus has never had any rights under the law. Why are YOU and the PLM insisting they do?

4) Overpopulation is a concern, but it is not the main reason to allow abortion. The most important reason that abortion is legal is that it is the woman's right to decide her own medical treatment. All other arguments are meaningless if you want to change RvW, which you won't.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Aquarius

Watch out if you're going shopping, because you'll be tempted to splash out on impulse buys. This doesn't matter so much if you're feeling flush, but it could cause problems if you're supposed to be counting every penny. Whatever the state of your finances, you may buy items you don't need and possibly even won't like when you look at them again tomorrow.
