Good on the new president. Time to look at situation as it REALLY stands, and so much for all the negative predictions, what are the alternatives?- ever increasing poverty. Seriously what have the poor got to lose, I mean they are already living in dire straits. The only ones complaining are the rich who are afraid of losing money in their fat pockets at the expense of the whole nation's sanity and health. What people don't get, is this, THERE IS NOTHING TO LOSE WHEN MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING.AND I MEAN MOST OF THE PEOPLE! Don't become like Australia - a paradise for the ever growing wealthy. Yeah sure we can buy a plasma TV here, but we work very long hours and now we are about to lose all our workers rights just so big corporations can keep getting larger dividends. How's this working for the working class people of this country. So don't go down our road and copy big western nations, cause we ain't got much to celebrate here. SO GO FOR IT PRESIDENT, GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE WHO YOU REPRESENT, NOT THE RICH.

The Ecuadorian state under the government of Correa plans on providing social services. Education, Health and 'equitable' Comerse.
The large corporate transnationals will have to stand in line behind the needs of small 'homegrown' businesses. About time...

Because of T V, internet, cell phones the world is
changing. The people of Ecuador know wha tis going
on in the world. The fat cats are going to have to
take less and the poor will get more. The times they
are a changing. Look at Mexico, the new president
has no choice but to help the poor or loose power.
We are watching you Ecuador go for it, a little at
a time and your better days will come.

taking from the wealthy who have worked for it.. thats ridiculous and only a lazy uneducated person would expect OTHERS to take care of them...
Ok. get the criminals out of the government who are taking ur wealth..
how about help your customs.. you can't even get things donated to ur country because of corrupt governement and police.. work on that,, instead of taking from the wealthy who deserve their wealth since THEY EARNED IT

The reason there are so many poor is that there aren't any jobs. There aren't any jobs because the government is greedy and corrupt. They have stolen and harrased all foreign investment. Correa is the nail on the coffin. Socialist dictators haven't worked anywhere and people are still drinking the kool-aid. Ecuador wished it were like Australia or the US. The Australian complaining about having to work has no idea what poverty is.

Ecuador's Alvaro Noboa's Bonita Banana workers had jobs... They were still poor.
As a 'venture capitalist" Noboa OUTSOURCED the contracts for some of his workers... the workers had jobs with 'peon' wages and couldn't ask his company for fair increases. They belonged to an OUTSOURCED company.
There has been Government corruption... But 'capitalists' play the CORRUPTION game very well, also.
