Round 2 of Zyprexa settlements

I was recently informed by my lawyer that my case against zyprexa has won, i used Fox law firm in texas. the last time i called the woman i spoke with said the final ammount to be given per patient will be known in the begining of March. i was just wondering if anyone else has any simalir news or any new news about when the 18,000 or so people will get paid.

our case was settled over a year ago and some of us in the 2000 and 8000 group have still not been paid. some of us only recieved a partial payment because we drew medicare or medicaid and they attached a lein to our awards. people are still waiting for this money also. i would say it will take awhile.

If the state tells u they have no such leins going on then the lawyer says they are holding the money for leins then someone is giving us the wrong info?

just curious as to when you contacted your attorney for the lawsuit? my attorney wont tell me nothing except to call them back in 3 months.

My attorneys have'nt told me a thing since 3-12-07 about my case and I've been taking zyprexa since 1997 and stoped taking it in 8-20-05 because I was afraid of getting exactly what I did eventually got,diabetes. To actually tell you, I don't know who my attorney is because I hired an attorney group in my home state and next thing you know,someone in Texas is handling my case.What the hell is really going on.We all who took zyprexa now suffers from a deadly desease.We need to paid more than $100,000.00 .

Do Eli Lily care about what they have done to a lot of consumers? I weighed 160lbs. before zyprexa, now I weigh283lbs. and am fighting a deadly disease called diabetes. I have to live with this disease they don't. Anything less than a settlement of $2,000,000.00 is just a slap in the face. They're just sitting back laughing at us.Probably saying better them than us. So; what is Eli Lily going to do about our long term illnesses? They don't have to take diabetic medication or stick themselves constantly and about the other illnesses zyprexa caused.

Lilly will do nothing about your diabetes. Just send a "token" check. Every state Medicaid system is taking liens if you get Medicaid (each state a different amount) plus each state is taking a Medicare lien if you are on that. The only state I know sueing Lilly for lifetime care for people with diabetes from Zyprexa is W. Virginia but there may be another state doing this, too, not just for people on Medicaid but everyone who was harmed.

Responding to what I have found out about Zyprexa. No only is it a very dangerous drug but also has severe mental loss if one was not suppose to take at all. I was the Victim of the State of Kansas. Was resident of Texas coming to Kansas for personal reasson's. Within 2 weeks time I had charges on myself for assualt, buying & selling, kidnapping and was handcuffed & taken to Wichita Ks. Based on unqualified Mental Health Professionals. Stating I was a danger to myself and other's. I was strip-searched for drugs, which was a very humiliating experience. I kept telling all a big mistake had happened. Reminder this was in August of 2004. I was FORCED to take Zyprexa, because I refused other drugs at St. Joseph's after being Court ordered by Cowley County Judges. Never knowing about charges. An incompetent lawyer cared nothing about my case,(court appointed). To make a long story short I was forced to spend time in Osawatomie State Mental Institution where I was forced to give blood and forced by foreign doctors along with a Internal Med Doctor to take Zyprexa. Was never told of the blood tests being taken, nor the Medication's given. Again, I was a resident and paying taxes in Texas along with a Texas Driver's license & TX license plates. All records list a Ks address and I had my own Story to tell. The Fox Law Firm in Dallas Texas has settled with Eli-Lilly for an unknown amount. I hired them to represent myself in June of 2006, since then I have been informed Mulligan Law firm has a contact person. Just last week I was referred to Garretson Law Firm out of who-know's-where to review all materials and decide who get's what. I was told packets were being sent out and a 90% return must be obtained. I called Fox Law Firm back and talked to a Chelsea from Mulligan Law Firm stating this had to do with if the client was still interested in pursueing the Zyprexa claim. I then responded to when my packet would be sent as I have returned to Kansas from Texas to correct all the false charges that were placed on me in 2004. I lost a marriage, a home, and the respect of all that knew me after being diagnosed as having Bipolar and having a severe mental illness for years. Was news to me. Also stated I had been in a mental institution 5 years prior to my illegal commitment in Kansas. I had worked as a unit clerk coordinator for a major hospital in Texas for over 7 years. Was not ever diagnosed or placed in mental institution in TX. I have lost all respect for most doctor's along with lawyer's and judge's. Have been denied any investigation by all in Kansas. As of this date we still have not received any packet. I am not involved in Medicare or Medicaid, as my Insurance in Texas refused to pay for any medication's or the illegal commitments in Kansas. If I hear anymore I will pass on the information. I am trusting Fox Law Firm only as that is the firm I signed with and no other. The amount Fox Law Firm settled for their clients is unknown to us thusfar. Kansas Attorney General & the Gov of Kansas is not even investigating these drugs and are still being handed out like candy in their State.

That is where i was when it was givin to me..Good ol Kansas..Them ppl sent me away too..They would come to my house daily and check on me..We wont say why but, it was a little on the wild side. They put me in a house and ppl would come in and watch me..I think i had to tell them a time or 2 that if i wanted to kill myself i would have, i said i take my own insulin. After that they watched me closer. I had some 50 year old religous virgin and a old time war vet that talked about gay sex watching me. And ppl thought i was the one with a problem. So after a week of this they took me to a shrink which said i was a sex addict and was a poly substance abuser and sent me to NA. She, virgin lady, wanted me to stand up in NA and say i was addicted to sex as an escape. Now would be the time i raised my eyebrow. I refused to be hugged by them and i was looked at like a freak and i wouldnt play the games, so i had someone coming to my house which was some old man who, well i dont know what he was doing really by this time i decided to go into a depression and stay for the sake of my sanity. He would tell me my house was a mess and i needed to clean it over and over again. Which it was but if you ever been depressed cleaning your house is the furthest thing from your mind. He thought that would bring me out of my depressive coma. So...I got introuble there for something i tried to handle before it went that far, and they lied. So i left a horrid marriage and a bad time which this is just the sprinkles on my cake. They took my dog too..Ok i can lose everything i ever had,and i can deal with stupidity..but do not take my dog..Oh then the shrink that sent me away kicked me out of his office when i was back and done with that bullcrap casue i asked him to many questions about his issues..he said i was fine..So i have been gone from there over a year and i seem to be doing very well..I havent been depressed and held down my job this whole time..I am being a productive human. So i can understand where you are coming from.

So they give us diabetes and we probably get a lousy 5 grand! I say we should pool our money and advertise about the dangers and reclessness of the pharmacutical corporations. Diabetes whether you have it now or will get it is not worth 5 grand. We all should not settle and file individually!

I agree. I'm not part of the settlement. I don't understand why so many are.

Did Garretson write and tell you you would only receive 5,000? What make you think that?

I have the Fox Law firm as well and they have not paid out yet I signed my papers over a month ago and they said it could still take weeks to months to get this finished they have turned the final proceedings over to the Garretson Law Firm to determine who gets what and like I said that was back in beginning of April 2007 and they told me I am in the settelment amount

well if you only got diabetes it just might not be 100,000.00 but less because there are people that died from taking the medicine I do know that people who only have pancreatitus get only like 5,000 but since more people are filing cases it could go up and it will definitely prolong things for others thet have not signed papers

so if more ppl file with the 18000 then it could go up? Ok i have not signed papers and i talked to my lawyer today. I talked to them for a good long while. Each lawyer is different, and each case is different so many things play a part in this..Age is a big factor. How bad it is progressing is another how bad you have it now..just alot of stuff..We do not know the amount cause they do not know the amount. Alot of cases are being checked and when you are approved you get checked again to see how much..When the time comes you will get a letter or a call sayin how much..This is how my lawyer is doing it..which makes sense..PPl are switched to different lawyers casue the ones you went through can not do any good for you but they will get a % of what you get..so they partner up so say. Less than 100,000 is just an assumtion..It is hard to tell the real numbers of ppl and the real price. The media could have just caught a number and went with it..again i am sayin what i was told today..My lawyer tells me to call anytime i have questions, and are very nice ppl..i ask about the process of this how it works..i want to know the steps to the outcome..that gives me a better idea of how long it will take and what to expect..So less than 100000 is just an assumption right waiting_8? Or did your lawyer tell you that everyone with diabetes is gettin less than 100000?
