Has anyone experienced abnormal spotting between periods after going on zoloft? I'm two weeks into my zoloft therapy and am spotting between cycles for the first time ever. Coincidence, or side effect?

I am. My period also came sooner (?) My breasts are huge and painful. Very odd. Sinus issues too (post nasal drip) and eye twitching. What symptoms do you have Bethany?

I started on zoloft about 6 weeks ago. I've had one normal period then started my next about a week early. went about 7 days. About 3 days before I started until about 3 days after my brests hurt so bad I thought I was pregnant. I stopped for 3 days and started again for an additional 10 days & still have it. I also have bad low back pain. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet. I made an appt with the doctor just in case it's not the zoloft. I would greatly appreciate any information anyone had that could link this to zolft.

I did end up tapering off of the Zoloft, because my period got totally whacked out. I would spot for days in a row, stop and then spot some more, but never have a true period. My period didn't come for about 2 weeks after stopping Zoloft, and I have NEVER missed a period. Of course, when I asked my OB/GYN if Zoloft could do this, she said that there is no reason why it would. But I don't agree- I stopped Zoloft back in September, and my period has yet to get back to what was normal for me. I had a full workup over it, too- ultrasound and endometrial biopsy, pap- all clear thankfully. I think it was the Zoloft. Now I take xanax usually once a day, sometimes not at all. It's worked well for me.

i started zoloft about 3 weeks ago. i am about 2 weeks late, and thought i was pregnant. 2 negative tests, and what sucks is that i was waiting to start birth control when my period starts.

i have been on zoloft for 3 and a half weeks and my period is so far a week late. So i'm hoping it is just the zoloft.

I started taking Zoloft in January and have not had a period since. Or, a "full-on" true period. My doctor said that it was unusual, but nothing too serious. He said that after a few months it should become regular again.

yes easy brusing is a side effect...sometimes serious...so get it checked out. I had easy bruising when i started zoloft, seems the clotting factor in my blood went low, after a few months it went back to normal

I started out just being a little late, then a lot late. I finally started my period today after 9 weeks of nothing. I started the Zoloft last November, and my period started getting weird in February.

Also - Yes, I went through about a month of extremely excessive bruising, but that went away in February. glad to know I'm not the only one with a messed up cycle on Zoloft.

Holy Cow! I thought I was going crazy! I have been on zoloft 100mg since January after being diagnosed with PPD. My period started to get weird about 2 months ago. Very short and light with cramping in between. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests so far. Both negative...thankfully. Now I have been spotting for 4 days and I'm not due for my period for another week. I am so glad I'm not the only one! Thank you everyone for your comments. I don't want to have to take this medication anymore. My husband wasn't happy when I told him it was recommended but I was so desparate to feel better. 7 months later, mentally, I feel good. Physically, I feel like crap.

I also started taking Zoloft 9/5/09 and started to spot the next day (which I was due) but then I stopped spotting all together. I haven't started yet 9/11/09.
