Constipation and No Weight Loss

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences! I have been on Xenical for more than a week now, have not lost much weight (2 lbs) even though I started going to the gym at least 4 times per week- and I am not eating high fat foods eitheir, but yet I am constipated. Even when I eat something with cheese or a little more fat than normal I don't notice a difference. I am not sure what's happening. The only thing that has helped me is some gastric enzymes that I bought at the vitamin store that further breaks down nutrients, but other than that I am not sure if the pills are working. I am just relieved to know it's not just me having this constipation issue!(I expected the opposite!)

I have been on xenical for 3 months now and only lost 6lbs! my doctor put me on them after i lost 5 stone with WW but then i came to a stand still. This is the 2nd time iv been on xenical and it doesnt work for me at all, so guess i will come off them and stick it out with WW through my annoying plateau.

At first my side effects was very loose stools and quite oily discharge, which went after the 1st week. I havent been constipated throughout the whole time i have been taking them. If anything i "go" more.
Refering to your other post, i take my xenical 15-20 minutes before i have something to eat.

Hi and good luck to everyone.I ordered Xenical online -had a guess at what my weight was over the phone and weighed myself at work today -well my worst case scenario weight would have been better than reality -OVER 100 KGS!!!!!!!!!! BUGGER!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway ,on day 5 of the DRUG and hope like hang it will work for me.
Lots of farts but no major accidents.
Day 2 evening I ate homemade pizza for tea and crickey ,the side effects in the loo the next morning have definately put me off eating excess fat and judging by my lack of similar side effects since ,I must be taking the right amount of fat.
I will be really happy to get below 100 kgs and never ever thought I would get so big :(

I have been taking zenical 3 times a day with food and have put on 3 pounds and go to the toilet a lot less than before - now feel really constipated. Dont know whether to stop taking the tablets or stick with them?

How long have you been on it Jude?
Have you taken anything for the constipation?
I know I put on weight when I am due a period with water retention plus get a bit bunged up.
Day 7 for me now- can't get an accurate weight until I am below 100 kgs as that is what my work scales go up to!!!!
Will get on them next week and if they don't register still I will be devastated .
I am sure my tummy has deflated a bit and I have been really good diet wise -exercise wise -mmm,not so much!

I have been on xenical for 2 weeks now and have lost 6lbs but have suffered the constipation and the bloating. This was the reason i did not carry on with them the last time i tried them. Having a good varied diet with very little fat.
Good to know i'm not in this alone though.
Will persevere.

I have suffered from severe constipation for the past 25 years, I am 43 now. I simply could not go to the loo without taking laxatives and had become completely reliant on them. Sometimes I would go for up to 10 days without a bowel movement. Over the years I have tried every conceivable method to overcome this problem but nothing worked for me until I started taking Xenical about a month ago. I only take it once a day, usually with my main meal. The result have been amazing. I go to the loo everyday, sometimes twice a day, and my stools are absolutely normal, no runs, oily discharge etc. I have experienced absolutely none of the side effects mentioned, this may have something to do with the fact that I only eat red meat once a week, use only olive oil (even for cooking) and absolutely no fried foods. I also try to drink 1.5L water everyday. I have lost 2kg´s and only need to loose another 3kg´s but for me it´s more about having found the solution to my 25 year problem. Yipeee!!

That is good to hear.I certainly have not got constipated on Xenical.The work scales are registering now so I am below 100 kgs!!!!Yay.
