Xeloda cost

My mother has breast cancer and the doctor wrote Rx for Xeloda. Her insurance doesn't cover and cost is $2,000.00 for a 14 day supply. Is there any trials she can get on or discounted rate? She can't afford the medicine and it is ashamed that you have to have money to have a chance at survival.

Dee Dee, in my state there is a medicaid program for breast/cervical cancer patients. Here in
South Carolina you have to be 40 or older to qualify. They just paid for my first round of xeloda. I can't believe how expensive this medication is! Hope this helps.

Go to xelodareimbursement.com , Genentech has a program to help patients who cannot afford it to get help to pay for the drug. You can also call them at 1-866-422-2377. Or you can order xeloda from online drug store, it is much cheaper.$650 for 120 tablets of xeloda 500mg tablets. It is a very good price. Go to google for xeloda, it will lead you to the on-line drug stores, then search for the cheapest one. Good Luck.

Work directly with the drug company, your doctor and medicare (if you have it) We were able to negotiate a $40.00 copay for a 14 day supply... If you are persistent, you can do wonders.

If your mother is on Medicare it will pay upon prior approval. Have your MD order fromm a specialized pharmacy like ACS in Orlando Florida as local pharmacies do not want to get involved in Medicare billing.

DeeDee try contacking the company that makes Xeloda some time the makers of the medican has programs that help you with the medicans some time they give it to for free.

Jay, I would love to know how that was possible. I had patient assistance last year, and have not been able to get into any copay assistance funds yet this year due to poor economy, high demand. This drug is keeping the cancer at bay, and I don't want to stop taking it, but I'm almost out of the drug.:(
