I was just reading about these since my dentist gave me these. I usually have to take vicoden and 4 motrin so of course you could take the Vicoprofen and then some tylenol. I was curious if others have used this? R the effects similar?

By the way, the reason that dentists give you Vicoprofen is because the ibuprofen, Advil, helps with the inflamation while the hydro helps with the pain.

Is it just as addicting a drug as Vicodin? I went and picked them up. Later I'll take one and a Tylenol. Didn't hurt too much this time, they worked on two up front or right next to my "canine".
btw, i think it's hillarious that you send folks to the oxy forum if they are obnoxious (heard that or read that, moreso)because i went over there one day and they are freaks!!! Some guy named LOL that used to scam folks telling everyone how he did it and taunting them.

Meds that are the most addictive are usually the ones that work the best. Vicodin controls pain better than Vicoprofen because it has two ingredients that work towards the goal of pain-killing. Actually, the APAP in Vicodin enables the hydro to work better, as well. So, my answer is that Vicoprofen, while it can be addictive, is not as addictive as Vicodin. My humble opinion.

I take vicoprofen for my fibromyalgia and I love then! They hav 200mg of ibuprofen each, so there's no worries about acetaminophen/liver problems. Ibuprofen is metabolized by your kidneys. They work great!

Took vicoprofen for 2+ years-- bulging discs, bad knees, special neck.......
I don't like tylenol at all, and I do like my liver. I personally have never felt "more" or "better" from any of the pain pills with it in there. Waste of time in my opinion, plus bad for you.
One thing I used to do when things hurt REALLY bad was add another 2-3 advil at the same time. Helps with inflammation immensely, and also would put a nice "punch" to the 7.5mgs of hydro. The max dose of ibuprofen at one time is 800mgs.
Not recommended, but also if things hurt severely, you can take 2 at one time, plus another 1-2 advil. As stated, not recommended, especially on a regular basis as your tolerance will go up fast.
Hard to find pain meds without tylenol because in their uncut form they are a Sched II, whereas with the mix they are a Sched III, so doctors feel better about writing a script. Vicoprofen is one of the few pain pills listed as Sched III without the tylenol.
There is also Combunox-- that is 5mg of oxycodone and 400mg of ibuprofen. Basically the ibuprofen form of percocet. Harder to find, and I'm not sure if there is a generic yet.
I was amazed at how many nurses and others in the medical field have never heard of them-- they all want to stuff vicodin or percocets in you, the whole time talking about watching out for too much tylenol. A couple times explaining it to people, they didn't believe there was such a thing until they called the pharmacist.
Anyway, I liked them and recommend them over anything with tylenol any day of the week. Just have to speak up and point it out to the doctors/nurses....

Sometimes I mix and match to keep the apap down. FYI we dont have that script monitor program in my state so I found a way around getting caught doc shopping, been doing this for 2 years now with no problems.

My thoughts exactly! Vicodin is also slightly different from lortab because it is hydrocodone bitartrate. It makes me feel better than lortab and seems to work better also. I really wish someone on this forum had some of these "flowers" for sale. I have asked around and no one seems to be able to get them. Vicoprofen rocks!

We just got the script monitoring thing in my state and it sucks!
As for the vicoprophen I have never taken it, but sometimes I do take advil with my hydro, mainly because even taking hydro with tylenol does not help me completely. I have very few days that I am without pain and I hate having to take so many things but it's really the only way I can get through work.

Fibro, just take a couple of advil 200mg with your loritab, thats basiclly making your own vicoprohen.
Jadora, the ibuprohen is a good antinflamatory so depending on your pain ie inflammed disc the prohen would give you better relief by reducing swelling and taking pressure off the nerve endings.

Ya my doc just prescribed reprexain instead of my usual lortabs. I also take trezix so he asked me first if I wanted to try it out. Reprexain has 5-200mg of hydrocodone and ibuprofen. I believe Hawthorne pharmaceuticals also makes the 7.5 & 10. I had to wait a day so Walgreens could order them in. I guess my state is new to reprexain. Anyways I love them and will never go back to lortab. Give them a shot. To each his own!

To many people on here doing pills for pleasure, when their are real people like myself & thousands of others that actually need these pills to be able to substain a normal ( to the best we can ) lifestyle. I see no problem in it for anyone here, as long as your not basing your life around the pills. Sex is so much better of a drug, & yes it's addictive to but much better endorphins! I wish you all well, maybe help out w/ the legalization of herbs, & watch this pill crazed nation seriously hurt these huge corporate pharmaceutical companies, that thrive on our need & addiction to their drugs. I just want to see due proper justice, & for us all to live free of pain & to live as ONE NATION, UNDER LIBERTY & JUSTICE.. W/ Light, Marley..

Medicine is something that you take for pain. Not for pleasure. Doctors know what you are seeking anyways. The people that suffer daily need these medications to get out of bed and do simple daily functions. Then you have people boasting at taking so many pills for a good time. That is horrible. Doctors are hesitant to prescribe pain medicine because of all the drug users out there that want highs. Thanks for making it hard for people like us that "need" help and do not even want to take the junk anyways, but have too. Later. What a world. Serenity

I would say that vicodin and vicoprofen are just as addictive, given the same amount of hydrocodone in the pill. I've had both for various ailments, and they both give me the same level of relief, and that same woozy feeling (I assume that's the high that the addicts go for). But this is just my opinion.
